Fire at oil depot in Russia's Rostov Oblast rages for 3 days: 22 fuel tanks ablaze
Sure looks like it is going to have to burn itself out.
A tank terminal fire in Deer Park, TX lasted for 3 days, 15 tanks larger tanks involved in that on in 2019. Using Google satellite view to measure diameter, the 22, (thus far) tanks in Rostov are approximately 1/3 the capacity, or about 25,000 bbls each. It all depends on how full they were before the fire as to loss of products

Goodness, doubleb Did you actually read the exchange? or did you just decide to pop off?
I did and besides some old drunk Russian saying that Putin got rid of the Nazis, I didn’t see anything about Russia making concessions. I was wondering what you were talking about.
If Russia was making concessions, if Russia genuinely wanted peace, and if there were real talks not show talks going on; it would make my day.
But in my life experiences all I’ve ever seen was the Commies (yes now we have ex Commies) drag on talks, waste time, pksy games and finally make agreements that they largely ignore.
It’s obvious to me that Putin messed up, and now he is painted into a corner. It’s his own fault.

It would make my day as well.
You'd address it as a hopeful step forward rather than via a sarcastic interrogatory. So would I.
THAT was the point.

Your point was understood, but I think you are being a little naive. The drunk old man has no authority.

Naive?
I was not the one who suggested Putin "caved," nor do I remotely believe it, frankly.
To the contrary, my strong leaning is Putin would not give up any talking point or leverage prior to negotiations. Though that is not really relevant to the post you're addressing. The point is, IF the premise in this echo chamber is that the Nazi pretext has disappeared, why would that be addressed sarcastically, negatively, or otherwise?

Putin?

The Czech Republic will use some of the interest earned on Russian assets frozen in the European Union to buy hundreds of thousands more artillery shells for Ukraine, the Czech Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.

EU governments agreed in June to use 1.4 billion euros ($1.5 billion) in profits generated by the assets to buy arms and pay for other kinds of support to Ukraine.
It is only 1.4 billion USD but it will help. Especially since the EU initiative to supply Ukraine with shells has hit a few snags.

Russians start construction along Crimean Bridge: looks like parallel bridge – photos
Yevhen Kizilov — Tuesday, 20 August 2024, 16:23
The Russians in Crimea are building a parallel structure, likely a second bridge, near the Kerch Bridge.
Source: the Militarnyi website; the Krimskiy Veter Telegram-group
Details: Photos showing builders driving steel piles for this construction emerged back at the beginning of August. Booms on both sides of the bridge construction can clearly be seen in the satellite images.

Not sure what they think that is gonna accomplish

They build the bridge before they have a road to connect to it. Interesting.

The pilings may be close enough together to block a USV.
Too low to go across the navigation channel. I believe it's a defensive upgrade from the barges and buoys used to string nets and cables.

So you agree that any suggestion from Lukashenko hinting at an end to the conflict is likely bullshite, but you don’t understand why people would call it bullshite?
I don’t think it’s all that complicated.

... but, yes, Lukashenko saying that there are no more Nazis in Ukraine is likely BS (assuming the translation/interpretation is accurate)

IIRC the Kerch Straits Bridge construction involved construction of a temporary bridge to transport building supplies and it looked awfully similar to that new bridge. Is the rail part of Putin’s bridge damaged beyond repair?

The Audubon Bridge is such a beautiful bridge to be in such a useless location.
