How does it feel to know that Ukraine has taken more territory from Russia in two weeks than Russia took from Ukraine in an entire YEAR?
Russia holds 26% of Ukrainian land. According to a June 3rd interview of Zelensky.
Ukraine hold less than 1% of 1% of Russia land. And cannot capture much more.
This war needs to end now.

I asked this after I heard a British military strategist interview - where he said that if it doesn’t serve as a diversion to slow down or disrupt the Russian advance, then it’s only mixed results from a military strategy perspective.
There is No denying the political advantages and benefits for morale though.
And If Ukraine can move in and control a larger footprint in Russia at a faster rate than the Russian advance in Donbas, then it makes absolute sense.

The question your sophomoric response raises is "Why the negativity toward Russian concessions"?
That must be breaking news. Can you provide a link to the concessions Putin made?

Link the interview please because Russia only controlled 18% of Ukraine in May.

Give the Ukrainians 30 months and they will hold more than 18% of Russia.

Russia could end this war at any time by simply going back to its internationally recognized borders.

Do you cry to Russian bloggers about ending your war also?

You know it would be nice if the maps would show the cities in English spellings. Both Russians and Ukrainians literally do not know their ABCs. I keep up with the information but don't have a clue where some of these maps are showing. I assume most of these maps don't have English translations though. Just gripping.

ISW Update Aug 19
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian forces continued to marginally advance in Kursk Oblast on August 19 amid continued fighting throughout the Ukrainian salient in the area.
Chechen Akhmat Spetsnaz Commander Apty Alaudinov aggravated a situation that the Kremlin has historically treated with extreme caution by calling for conscripts to participate in combat operations in Kursk Oblast and dismissing concerns from relatives of conscripts.
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Azerbaijan on August 18, likely in an effort to shift focus away from the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk Oblast and present himself as a continually effective diplomat.
The Kremlin's response to Ukraine's incursion into Kursk Oblast has emphasized how the Kremlin's internal priorities have increasingly oriented towards regime stability, especially over the past year.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on August 19 further codifying a vague Russian state ideology into Russian law without concretely modifying the Russian Constitution. Putin's effort to codify a specific ideology may be intended to counter the Russian ultranationalist community's own efforts to establish an accepted national ideology.
Russian officials continued attempts to falsely frame Ukraine as responsible for the lack of negotiations to end the war.
Russian forces recently advanced near Kupyansk, Svatove, Pokrovsk, and Vuhledar.
Local Sakhalin Oblast media outlet Sakhalin Media reported on August 19 that the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Border Service in Sakhalin Oblast and other federal subjects within the Russian Far East, Northwestern, and North Caucasian federal okrugs has resumed conscription for the first time in an unspecified "long" length of time.

It's not too hard to figure out most of the names. Are you familiar with the Greek alphabet? Most of the characters are very similar to Greek .

18% of Russia is 5 times the size of Ukraine. Logical.

Control Manhattan financial district and you can control the drilling for oil and pipeline funding in Texas. FACT. That's who funds all of it
So your point doesn't make a rat's arse

That must be breaking news. Can you provide a link to the concessions Putin made?
Did you actually read the exchange? or did you just decide to pop off?
The sarcastic interrogatory which I addressed involved "Putin caving." "Caving" is synonymous with concession by any English definition.
I guess that's "breaking news"?

An interview with Apti Alaudinov was published by the Chinese "war correspondent" Liu Yuguan, which begins with a question about the positions abandoned by Chechen forces in the Kursk region. In response, Alaudinov stated that only "CIPSO" and "pro-Ukrainian" Telegram channels reported this, and that his troops are still holding the positions they occupied before the border breach.

The special operation in Kursk is going well: Russian police have issued guidelines for residents of Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions regarding “information security.”
Among other things, they urge people not to use dating apps, turn off CCTV that can be intercepted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, turn off geolocation, and even delve into their phone books so as not to accidentally reveal their acquaintances in law enforcement agencies or the army.

Fire at oil depot in Russia's Rostov Oblast rages for 3 days: 22 fuel tanks ablaze – video
STANISLAV POHORILOV — Tuesday, 20 August 2024, 11:09
A fire at the Kavkaz oil depot in Russia's Rostov Oblast, where oil products for the Russian army are stored, has been raging for three consecutive days. Despite efforts to contain it, the blaze has intensified, now engulfing 22 tanks.
Source: Kremlin-aligned news agencies RIA Novosti, TASS, Interfax, RBK; Telegram channels Baza; Meduza
Details: Local authorities say the fire at the oil depot in Proletarsk has spread to an area of 10,000 square metres.
Around 22 out of 74 diesel fuel tanks are said to be currently burning, and the fire is likely to continue for several more days.
Around 520 people, including firefighters from neighbouring regions, are battling the blaze.
However, the fire has not yet been contained. Continuous water spraying is underway between the tanks at the site to prevent any detonations.
Russians claim that the fire at the oil depot in Proletarsk, Rostov Oblast, started on Sunday "after the fall of three aircraft-type drones".
