Is this a shock? Between Trump and Noam Chomsky the American public has been convinced we should do the same...

It's certainly the thing in the UK, and in Italy... and any place that's not on the border of Russia or has two or more states as a buffer Russia would have to go through... Austria and Switzerland are the ultimate free riders, not NATO members but surrounded by them.

On X a Swedish woman was blasting Putin and expressing support for Ukraine, but then said she opposed Swedish ascension into NATO. When asked why, she said "We don't need it. Finland and Norway share the borders with Russia, not us." A Finnish guy said "Typical Swede!!!"

The collapse and replacement of the native population in the UK and France will break both countries.

And the historic collapse of the ethnic Russian population won’t break Russia? What happened and what is happening there is far worse than what is happening in Europe proper.

One of the biggest lessons of the war is how easily the Russians, with all their mass and might, have been bogged down. Given that these are your conclusions, though, we can safely bet on the opposite being absolutely true.

“We are raising pink ponies that defecate soap bubbles on the heads of darling intelligentsia.”

Never let it be said that the Russians have lost their way with poetic language!!!

These Nationalistic Late Night talk shows are... fricking weird... like something from a Heinlein novel adaptation

Bro, if you don't get paid for these incandescently hot takes you need to renegotiate with your handler in Unit 54777.

THE lesson of this war is the effectiveness of drones which are the very embodiment of precision smart fire.

Russian media claiming they are not raising warriors

In one of the vids on China and their military that I posted here they reported on the reality of the Chinese military and Chinese Society.

First off, military service is compulsory... so it's full of people who do not want to be there, who do not love their country... who do not believe in the cause they are expected to fight and die for... and are disillusioned with the insane corruption in the military and Chinese Society in general.

and to make that much, much, worse... China adopted the one-child policy, In Chinese Society, the eldest son is responsible for housing and caring for the parents in their old age. So, people made sure by any awful means necessary that their one child was a male. And they also did not risk anything happening to that child as he grew up... they watched over him like a hawk and did not let him come close in any way to danger or anything threatening. Their lives in old age depended on that child being alive and intact. So, how do you think these generations of male children have turned out in adulthood? In the few weird little military skirmishes China involves itself in, like raids into India to see if they can just get away with insisting India has the wrong border coordinates and the land actually belongs to China, and armed only with baseball bats and sticks because an agreement between the two countries bans firearms in their altercations, the Indians fight off much larger numbers extremely easily because once they punch the Chinese soldiers they run away crying.

CNN: "Indian and Chinese troops fight with sticks and bricks in video"

And I have to wonder if the citizens of Moscow and St, Petersberg aren't much different at this point? The birthrate in urban Russia is very, very low... so it could be a real case of smothered only-child syndrome writ large...

The males of the two cities might be spared from military service for other reasons besides the obvious political one.

POLITICO: "Trump considering cutting back intel sharing with Europe, officials warn"
European officials say they rely on U.S. intelligence to help fend off Russian aggression on their own soil.

Donald Trump is considering a reduction in intelligence sharing with members of NATO, which depends on the U.S. for the type of information that has helped Ukraine fend off Russia, according to foreign officials informed of the plans.

Trump advisers have told allied countries the reduced intel sharing would be part of a broader plan to scale back U.S. support and cooperation with the 32-nation alliance, according to three European officials and a senior NATO official, who were granted anonymity to discuss internal discussions.

Uh... this would not be good... either he is a Putin asset or... a fool?

Beyond Ukraine, this would pretty much screw the entire continent.

Not sharing information among groups with the same goals leads to mass inefficiency.

That said, if it will really cause so many issues in Europe maybe they should increase the effectiveness and scale of their own intelligence agencies.

You would think when Europe started unifying more with the advent of things like the EU that they would have sat down and amongst themselves say "you know what? Our over-reliance on the US is probably a bad thing. What if the US becomes compromised, or just rug pulls us?"

Satellite surveillance is what the US has in spades, China is gaining, Russia is less and less, and all of Europe not close.

Then again this is from Politico.

WWII was won partially because of the Poles’ and later the Brit’s’ work breaking the German codes.

Sharing intel amongst allies is vital.

Not sure how Russia is less and less. I know they've out up at least 4-6 since the beginning of this. At least in my mind, adding is not subtracting. Maybe I'm missing something

This is hilarious. Russian foreign intelligence releases "declassified reports" showing that the Biden administration has made secret deals with the cartels to get them to fight in Ukraine.

If only.

Modules for Russian LNG plant go back to China. Short version, project to expand the LNG terminal isn't happening due actual and threatened sanctions on China.

Looks like F-16s might already have crossed into Ukraine. Talk is getting awfully hot, especially when the Ukrainian Foreign Minister is talking about their deliveries in the past tense. I won’t be shocked to just hear of their first sortie any day now. I’d keep it a secret if I could as I’m sure they are trying to do but both the ground crews and the pilots for 6 aircraft have completed their training and been given the green light for operations. I think the time has finally arrived.

This year, 23 of NATO's 32 members will hit the 2% number. Of the remaining 9, Spain and Italy are large economies, and their lack of spending is a problem. But they, and the rest of those 9, are at least pretending that the 2% number is important, and they have official plans to raise spending to that level in upcoming years.

Many of those "allies" have been known to "cook the books" or play with numbers when calculating their 2%.

For example, the UK counts military retirement pensions towards their 2%.
That is a joke.

Germany, a massive economy, has been a disgrace. Their track record on defense spending is abysmal. Their military is in pitiful shape.
