Can you explain whether you’re illiterate or just a dishonest little bitch for misquoting me earlier and not owning up to it?

Also, the only reason these nations are increasing spending is because Trump told them to.
I can't even with this stupid shite. Given he was two years out of office when it started you would have a better argument they increased spending because Biden told them too. It's also stupid but actually more supportable.

Key Takeaways:
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that NATO may take steps to enhance NATO's nuclear deterrence, eliciting varying responses from senior Kremlin officials.
Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed four deputy defense ministers and replaced them with a “close relative,” the son of a former Russian prime minister, and an economist on June 17 in an ongoing purge of officials in the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD).
Tsivileva's, Fradkov's, and Gornin’s appointments support Putin’s recent efforts to introduce his relatives and the children of other senior Russian officials to the Russian public and to install economic advisors to the MoD to improve the wartime economy.
Russian milbloggers largely focused on celebrating the dismissal of Pankov, Tsalikov, Shevtsova, and Popov and largely overlooked the apparent nepotism that benefited two of the new deputy defense ministers.
A Russian state media outlet manipulated an interview with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi to blame Ukraine for strikes against the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in an attempt to legitimize Russia's illegal occupation of Ukraine.
Ukraine's Western partners continue efforts to train more Ukrainian pilots on Western-provided F-16 fighter jets.
The Kremlin confirmed on June 17 that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit North Korea on an official state visit on June 18 and 19.
Russian forces recently advanced near Siversk, Chasiv Yar, and Avdiivka.
Russia is reportedly experiencing issues with producing artillery shells and select artillery systems.

In that vein, we got some interesting news a few days ago about the manufacturing and repair facility that Rheinmetall is setting up in Ukraine.
The initial announcement had been that it would manufacture Lynx IFVs. It's still going to do that, but the facility will also be putting Skyranger systems on old Leopard 1 hulls.
Perhaps there are a number of Leopard 1 tanks out there with bad turrets that still have good hulls. Maybe even Greece or Turkey would donate some.
In any case, it makes sense to send tanks into battle with a mechanically identical tracked vehicle (easy for maintenance and repair) that will shoot down all the drones that threaten the tanks.

The hilarious part is that, until now, Russia claimed that the plane was accidentally downed by friendly fire.

Now now. Personal attacks don't give your argument any weight.
I can't even remember which of your arguments I was refuting?
The one where you claimed that the Russian unit wasn't really encircled?
Or the one where you think European countries are increasing defense spending, not because of Russia's invasion, but because Trump wanted them to?
Or where you said the 2022 surrender deal was the best Ukraine would ever get, all the while the terms are getting better?
Or the one where you think the west needs to let Putin have his way, because he has nukes, and because the next leader of Russia "might be worse"?
Or the one where you LOL when someone said that Russia had run war game simulations on invading parts of Europe (with a reminder that....Ukraine is part of Europe).
You seem to get flustered that I am not apologizing for calling you out on your bullshite. But whatever.

Actually, it was just announced that 23 NATO members will hit the target this year, not 20.
I'm puzzled why anyone thinks that President Trump would try to pull us out of NATO. Trump's irritation with NATO was that European nations weren't meeting their obligations and paying their share, and that's no longer the case.
His irritation with NATO sought reasons to justify itself, according to the people who had to think up ways of delaying and distracting him not to try to get that ball rolling.
But most of you guys have much, much, much, much, much more faith in him than I do... so... whatevs

Oh, this is very interesting. As I have said before, previous estimates have indicated that Russia was manufacturing about 20 new tanks per month, in addition to repairing and upgrading a similar number of older tanks.
We now have new evidence that Russia is making, at the very most, about 8 new tanks per month, and the likely number is only half that.
LINK
The repair and upgrade number may be correct, but this still means that Russia is going to run out of tanks in the next 6-9 months. The math of losing 200 tanks per month while manufacturing 8 new ones has only worked so far because of how many tanks were in storage, but the storage depots are emptying out.

As their storage depots, which really amount to boneyards, are emptied, the refurbishable tanks will become nil long before total number is nil.
Let's not forget that their vaunted T-34 rarely was able to travel more than 125 miles on its own before complete overhaul needed. Craftsmanship was never a thing for Russia. They lost something like 85% of all of them built to both mechanical failure and loss on the battlefield.

Interesting analysis: The "overall output of T-90Ms amounts to at least 231 built and modernised since April 2020; but it could be as high as 267 if all batches included 15 tanks."
"This would suggest an increase in annual output from about 40 before February 2022 to a wartime output of 60–70 for 2023, with possibly even more to be produced over the course of 2024. Based on this pattern, the production rate from 2025 could be more than 90 annually."

Polish farmers have resolutely confronted illegal migrants in an unusual way
They decided to fill the border strip between #Poland and #Belarus with pig manure.
Polish farmers learned the idea from the Greeks, who a few years ago tried to stop refugees from the Middle East in this way.
Polish farmers also assume that most of the foreigners on the Polish-Belarusian border are Muslims who don't eat pork.
"We count on the fact that if we spread pig manure, illegal migrants will not pass through this strip because their faith will not allow them to do so," the farmers say.

SBU drones hit Russian oil depots in Rostov Oblast, source says
by Martin Fornusek June 18, 2024 12:17 PM
Drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) hit two oil depots in Russia's Rostov Oblast overnight on June 18, a source in security and defense forces told the Kyiv Independent.
Russian authorities reported fires at several oil storage tanks in the Russian town of Azov in southwestern Rostov Oblast earlier the same day.
According to the source, the drone attack successfully targeted the oil depots Azovska and Azovnaftoprodukt, where 22 oil storage tanks were located. Powerful fires erupted following the reported attacks.
"The SBU will continue to implement 'drone sanctions' against the Russian oil refining complex and reduce the economic potential of the enemy, which provides the aggressor with resources for waging war against Ukraine," the source added.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 18 June 2024
Russian forces have likely taken control of the village of Novooleksandrivka, located approximately 20km north of Avdiivka, Donetsk oblast. The area has seen heavy fighting throughout 2024 and Russia has been gradually advancing since capturing Avdiivka in February 2024.
By taking control of Novooleksandrivka, Russiamoves closer to threatening the T-05-04 road, one of the main supply routes for Ukrainian forces further east. It is highly likely that the village of Vozdvyzhenka will be Russia's next objective as it seeks to sever the road and disrupt Ukrainian logistics.

Just because you take my comments a certain way doesn't mean that is what I'm saying. I think its obvious that you have to treat countries with nukes differently than you do ones without, and the proof is in the fact that the against a country like Iran the US is willing to go further in terms of direct action with our own weapons than we were (and still are in some ways) letting Ukraine go while using our weapons.
