Not an a-hole at all, just a bipolar fear monger who may be right sometimes.

You had me kinda worried about the Ides of August or whatever you used to talk about.

Does he not remember that whole Slobodan Milosovic / Bosnian genocide hiccup there? Sounds like the Eastern European version of the Che T-shirt wearing leftists.

He’s right. Not surprised you didn’t have a rebuttal

Never would have thought that I would be seeing some cast Milosevic as a swell guy

Can we at least get these folks into a dictator thread where we can see where Putin falls in with the rest, and his/their supporters can extoll their praise in a safe space?

Oh yeah, the Serbians were just sooo peaceful. NATO went in there for no reason at all. None.

Back before Glasnost, I had a family friend that was a nuclear engineer. Somehow he got to travel to the Soviet Union (some sort of academic exchange??) I'm pretty sure it was after Chernobyl, so that might have had something to do with it. He told me he was traveling from the airport and saw the distinctive shape of cooling towers on the horizon jut outside of Moscow(?) He commented on it to the taxi driver, "Oh the power station is awfully close to the city?" or something to that effect. The taxi driver said, "That's not a power station, it's a tractor factory."

Point being they may not have known what they were shooting at....

The Serbs were actively committing genocide and we stopped them in their tracks, while you and people like you denied the genocide that is now commonly acknowledged history except in places like Russia . Now go back to the PB sandbox with your other Q anon lunatics. There’s your rebuttal.

Good morning to my friends waking up in the US:

Kyiv remains in Ukrainian hands. Ukraine warns Russia about to conduct naval landings around Odessa.

Power is out in Mariupol. And residential areas are getting bombarded in Kharkiv per UA

The fire at the nuclear complex is out.

Want to touch briefly on nuke complex bc it's so alarming. Zaporizhzhia is largest complex of its kind in Europe

The fire was in a nearby building, not critical infrastructure. Russian troops now appear to control much of the complex. But Ukrainian technicians still staffing

Yeah, good point. Augustus just happened to be one of the most competent leaders in world history. How often do those come along? It could get much, much worse.

Rome actually had a good run under Augustus and a few more of the early emperors. Problem was when the incompetent and batshit crazy ones came along. They couldn't just vote them out and were stuck with them. Then later you had the Praetorian guard pretty much picking emperors and it really all went to hell.

China is too, what’s your point? Why do you clowns pick and choose the genocides you acknowledge ? China’s actions don’t magically obviate the Slavs. Second, even if we ever engaged with china the peanut gallery would just claim it’s the deep state / cia provoking China.
