Giz the pug is correct, we need to move the tactical nukes to poland and bordering Nato allie’s now if not already done, use the Navy to seize all Russian Yachts all over the world, and the billions of dollars worth of Russian real estate in miami etc, and start making 10,000s of stingers, drones, cheap easy to use weapons etc for the Free Ukrainian Army, etc.

Bleed them dry. I would take out belarus too just for fun but that’s just me

confirmed by both sides. I would have assumed someone who has been following this thread so closely would have known that by now.

Summary from random fb guy:

quote:

Day eight of war in Eastern Europe. The Ukrainian air force seems to have mustered whatever it can to hit the convoy NW of Kyiv. There are also reports that Uke Special Forces have raided Hostomel Airfield, presumed deep behind Russian lines. Things seem to be faring well for the Ukrainians in that sector where they also launched a counteroffensive yesterday in the direction of Makariv west of Kyiv. But I'm not convinced the Russians are completely moribund in that sector. Something is up... perhaps Maskirovka, or battlefield deception. The Russians are masters at it, soldiers sleeping on the ground and eating expired rations notwithstanding.

I've seen enough indiscriminate heavy shelling of Mariupol, Kharkiv and Irpin (W of Kyiv) to know that civilian casualties are growing well in excess of what can be timely and accurately reported. The Ukrainians, as they grow desperate themselves, will dig into civilian structures. But they are mindful to evacuate civilians from structures they fortify, unlike the Taliban or ISIS. Still, heavy weapons and artillery will always cause collateral damage when trying to dig out urban defenders.

There are reports the Russians are now running low on stocks of precision guided munitions. They are going to have to resort to iron bombs and cluster munitions more and more often, which will also cause plenty of collateral damage. It will also cause an increase in flight sorties, meaning the aerial battle could be nearing a climax. There are reports that the Russians are even planning to use old crop dusters to fly as decoys (Maskirovka) to suppress Ukrainian air defenses, which remain strong. In fact, Ukrainian air defenses are half of why the Russians have not attained air superiority. The other reason is that the Russian air force has been holding back, using small strike groups with precision munitions. That is going to change. The air war will grow in intensity.

Belarussian forces are reportedly massing on their border with Western Ukraine. They may possibly open a new front to attack towards Lutsk and Lviv, a vital sector needed to secure supply lines from Poland into Ukraine. Whatever "Gru" Lukashenko is up to, it is nothing but a vassal and lackey for Putin. Other former Soviet vassals are also reportedly shifting major forces by rail to destinations unknown, namely Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Meanwhile Macron got nowhere with Putin today in a lengthy call. The Ukrainian and Russian delegations agreed to open humanitarian corridors through agreed upon ceasefires. That is good and well, but that will clog roads with refugees, preventing ease of operational movements of the Ukrainian Army through the rear areas, and giving the Russian the respite to resupply. It works in Russia's favor.

What I'm interest in hearing tomorrow is if rumors are true that Putin intends to declare martial law across Russia, as Ukrainian intelligence suggests. Wilder rumors than that is that he will declare mandatory conscription. I won't know what to think about that if it happens. It is too fraught to consider right now.

Which makes me think they were exaggerated.

EDIT: Actually this is the latest from Phil Stewart:

quote:

GOOD NEWS - The fire at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station broke out IN A TRAINING BUILDING outside the plant's perimeter, the state emergency service said in a statement

Separately, the plant's director told Ukraine 24 TV radiation security had been secured at the site.

Again, y’all, grain of salt with everything you hear. Immediately saying this was going to be ten times worse than Chernobyl is an obvious red flag when they don’t even investigate the scene.

shelling at a nuclear facility (or some level of combat involving RPGs, etc.) damaged some portion and started a fire

Last I heard there were no known leaks and the reactor was fine, an admin building was on fire and the readings were in normal ranges

I would think any building in a nuclear facility being on fire is a big problem, but I'm sure my vision of a big control room with red buttons and alarms is a little outdated

Dipshit Adam Kizinger just reissued his call for a no-fly zone

The entire country came down on him, I assumed he'd fade into oblivion

I got a feeling that wherever the west decides to draw the line in the sand (Nato countries perhaps?) they will arm to the teeth and build lots of defense infrastructure.

On the seizure thing, I'm not sure what the rules are but if they incentivize the agencies with the power to seize things (kind of like the DA's and Sheriff's offices used to and may still get money from the forfeiture of things used in drug deals) they would probably have a lot of agencies going after those assets.

Fighting outside of the facility.

Have seen it said that the Ukrainians were falling back there thinking they wouldn’t be attacked further because it was a nuke plant. No idea if that element is true, but fighting ensued nonetheless.

Admin building is on fire.

Radiation levels normal.

Russians appear to want control of it to cut power to its customers if they choose.

Scary because it’s a nuke facility, but “experts” seem to think the reactors aren’t at risk, at least from the fighting.

Well here’s a guy who is running again and is looking to start WWIII. Lindsey Graham, this cocksucker (literally), is calling for the direct assassination of Vladimir Putin: Fox News.

The nuclear power plant isn’t going to melt down.

Do the Ukrainians plan on “salting the wells” when the bitter end is in sight.
Burning the factories, power plants, etc destroying all the farming equipment, blowing up all the bridges etc.

It’s a tough call but the Russians will not be able to fix shite as are going to be basically embargoed and with no real assets and fighting a serious insurrection this will be old quick. If mother nature helps with a brutal winter, Russians will starve en masse big time.
