How come you guys never post the actual news.....

Russian troops continued a relentless march in eastern Ukraine for a third straight week, giving defenders no respite since seizing Avdiivka on February 17.
Geolocated footage on February 29 showed Russian troops had advanced 5km (3 miles) west of Avdiivka to the outskirts of Orlivka and Berdychi.
Russia move 5 km in 12 days. Wow that is a whole 0.42 km per day! If Russia can sustain that rate of advance they will reach the Dnieper River in 452 days!

But hey ukraine blew up a PT boat..
Dude look at a map of the conflict. Orlivka and Berychi is the next line of Ukrainian defenses. The 5km that Russia advanced over was mostly uncontested ground except for artillery fire.

By the estimate of the Russian Ministry of Defence, it took Moscow’s forces four months to advance 9km (5.6 miles) through the Donetsk region before seizing Avdiivka.
By that standard, 5km in three weeks – including 3km (nearly 2 miles) in the past week alone – was fast progress.
4 months...6 miles then
3 weeks....5 kilometers now
1 week....2 miles
Makes sense, ukraine bet the farm and defenses, fortified defenses, lost the city, and are now on the ever increasing "retreat". Its over, just a matter of how much waste of humanity until cargo pants thinks his bank account is full enough. Can be no other reason for this willful carnage of your own people.

Zelenskyys "people" live 2067 km from Kiev (as the crow flies).

Its over and they need to come to the table, tell Russia to stop where they are and call it a day.
Why would Russia settle now when they just achieved a mighty breakthrough?

They fell back to the next defensible point. Look at a map dumbass. It’s nothing but fields in between Avdiivka and where the Ukrainians fell back to.

And thats my point. They spent over a year building up Avdiivka, now they have hastily retreated to the next defensible point....that they will have a week to build up...how long do you think they will hold there. It just diminishing returns. They dont have the troops, the weapons, nor the munitions.
The UN now says over 31 million people have crossed the border since the war started, does that sound like a populous that wants this to continue? The US is balking on funding, the EU gave them a loan and a small grant at a rate of 12.5 billion per year, that wont keep them in winter socks. The average, average age of their enlisted is 43 years of age with little experience.
The vaunted shooting down of Russian planes, well since they have moved the artillery now drones are blowing up civilian areas that would have been protected.
Its over, Turkey is once again saying they will try and negotiate/mediate cargo pants better make haste.

Mass drone attack on Taganrog. Attack by 41 drones (acc. to RIA Novosti) lasted 1-1.5 hours, Rostov governor Vasily Golubev said, claiming drones were shot down. But one video shows apparent hit, and local telegram channels say Beriev aircraft plant could have been damaged.

We're definitely starting to see the fruits of Ukraine's massive investment in drone warfare. Remember that, a month ago, Zelensky made the Unmanned Systems Forces a separate branch of the Ukrainian military. Even back in July, Ukraine has 28 models if drones in regular production, and that number is now above 60.
And that's before we talk about all the drones that allies are producing and developing.
I've said it before, but I think most posters in this thread simply can't grasp how much this is going to change the war over the course of the next year.
Russia got its Shahed drones from Iran, and those originally had a dramatic effect, as Ukraine begged allies for air defense systems, with the German Gepard ultimately becoming the star of the show in shooting these down (Skynex is the next-generation system also in Ukraine in very small numbers).
Russia simply does not have a comparable system. They do not have a good way to shoot down kamikaze drones. When Ukraine sends 47 of them over the border like they did last night, there's no way that Russia is going to shoot them all down.

All, to the Russians in here bragging about how their guys advanced another kilometer in eastern Ukraine in the last few days, this is what "winning" looks like for Russia:
Those are the losses just from yesterday. Andrew Perpetua doesn't do his daily list with the purpose of bragging about Russian losses; he does it because he needs to watch all those videos as he maintains his map. As always, he links to all the original source videos in his database:
LINK
Most recent days haven't been quite this bad for Russia, but I don't think that there's any question that the current Russian offensive will be ending soon, as Russia is simply losing too much equipment.
(Note that "Loaf" and "Goat" are Andrew's nicknames for a specific Russian military van and a Ukrainian military SUV.)

It's rarely taken into account in this thread.
I try not to make specific predictions, but I think it's obvious that as the range and quantity of Ukrainian long range strike drones increases, russia's lack of air defense will become even more obvious. Military, oil and gas, and heavy industry are legitimate targets that require protection.

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
09 March 2024
On 1 March 2024, Russia introduced a six-month ban on gasoline exports to stabilise prices in the domestic market amid rising demand. Russian Government Resolution number 243 of 29 February 2024 restores the export embargo that had originally applied from 21 September 2023 to 17 November 2023.
It is likely that Russia's refining capacity has been temporarily reduced by multiple Ukrainian uncrewed aerial vehicle strikes against refineries across Russia. The export ban will relieve pressure on supplies and enable Russia to make repairs to its refineries. Repairs are likely to take longer than normal as Western sanctions have prevented the import of some necessary components.
The Russian Government will be particularly sensitive to rising prices for gasoline and other daily commodities in the run-up to the 15-17 March Russian presidential election.

Russian logistics still suck donkey dicks.
Crates handled be men from rail depots, then to trucks, then man handled to weapons. That being said, Ukraine has similar still remaining. Russia still is lacking understanding of how to use pallets and forklifts. Crates stacked by hand even at manufacturing sites
