Have you been since 2014? I have. Both rural and urban Ukrainians want to be Europeans and not Russian. Yes they have historical ties to Russia, but they want to those ties to stay in the past and not continue into the present or the future.

Putin and Putin alone is responsible for this tragedy. Any attempt to blame Ukraine or the West is bullshite. Yanokovich was impeached and removed from power under the laws of Ukraine. Even if his removal was unconstitutional under the laws of Ukraine (it was constitutional btw) his term expired in 2015. There was no coup and Zelensky is the legitimate and freely elected president of a sovereign Ukraine.

Not exactly.

You had one nation invade another and take a large state and a civil war erupt where the invaded furnished arms and troops to one side.

Now it’s a war between one nation and an invader.

It hasn’t been strictly a civil war in ten years.

Go to Ukraine and see for yourself. The Ukrainians hate Russia for invading and hate the Russian people for not standing up to Putin. Will you find a few rural Ukrainians who want to be part of Russia, yes. However, those are mostly old men and women who think that being part of Russia would mean a bigger pension check and are a tiny percentage of the Ukrainian population.

No I wasn’t. Sir Winston said that he had been to Ukraine and Russia. I was asking SirWinston if he had been to Ukraine since 2014. The reason why I asked that is because the sentiments of the people of eastern Ukraine and how they view Russia have changed tremendously since 2014.
