ISW Update

quote:

Key Takeaways:

Russian forces are conducting a tactical turning movement through Avdiika likely to create conditions that would force Ukrainian troops to withdraw from their positions in the settlement. Ukrainian forces have yet to fully withdraw from the settlement and continue to prevent Russian forces from making gains that are more significant than the current incremental Russian advances.

The Russian offensive effort to capture Avdiivka underscores the Russian military’s inability to conduct a successful operational envelopment or encirclement in Ukraine.

The potential Russian capture of Avdiivka would not be operationally significant and would likely only offer the Kremlin immediate informational and political victories.

The Russian command reportedly reorganized the command structures of the Russian grouping of forces in southern Ukraine.

Russian forces conducted a relatively larger series of missile strikes against Ukraine on the night of February 14 to 15.

Ukrainian security forces reportedly conducted a successful drone strike against an oil depot in Kursk Oblast.

Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to elaborate on an amorphous ideology for Russia to support geopolitical confrontation with the West by attempting to portray Russia as the leader of an international anti-Nazi movement.

Putin intentionally misrepresented a statement from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in an attempt to promote pseudo-history aimed at denying Ukrainian statehood.

Russian sources claimed that the Russian military officially removed Russian Black Sea Fleet (BSF) Commander Admiral Viktor Sokolov and replaced him with the BSF’s Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Sergei Pinchuk.

Select members of the US-led coalition the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (also known as the Ramstein format) formally launched an air defense coalition and agreed to form a drone coalition and demining coalition to support Ukraine following the group’s 19th meeting in Brussels on February 14.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg announced that NATO and Ukraine will create a joint analysis, training, and education center in Poland following the meetings of NATO Defense Ministers in Brussels on February 15.

Russian forces recently made confirmed advances near Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area.

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Uralvagonzavod plant in Sverdlovsk Oblast, one of Russia’s largest tank producers, on February 15 to promote Russian efforts to expand Russia’s defense industrial base (DIB).

Head of Ukraine’s nuclear operating enterprise Energoatom Petro Kotin stated that the situation at the occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) is becoming more dangerous due to Russian activity near and at the plant.

Because highway funding has already been passed. Ukrainian aid hasn’t.

Biggest Ukraine supporter" using Putinist talking points to justify holding up Ukraine aid. What a pathetic joke.

Do you have friends in the Ukrainian military who are fighting in Ukraine? Do you personally know anyone who has died in the war fighting for Ukraine? Have you gotten on a plane and physically gone to Ukraine to see the devastation and help out in hospitals taking care of the people affected by the war? Have you talked face to face with Ukrainian soldiers? I doubt it. However can answer yes to all of those questions. So you can take your Putinist talking points stuff and wrap it in barb and shove into your arse with no lube.

Obama also sacked a lot of high ranking officer to replace them with left leaners and now many white recruits have been repelled.

The left has long feared the conservative nature of military personnel, but they are working hard to fix that.

Just take a look at what that pos Loyd Austin has done.

Why my former finance director of Gazprom left and moved to the US in 2007. Why the company he is over its owners left in 2014 for Switzerland.

shitlibs like Obama, Nance, Clinton, Biden and with the help of useful idiot neocons like you, Chaim "Bill" Kristol, Liz Cheney, tiny Adam Kinzinger, etc. You are all enemies of the American people.

Policy differences don’t make one an enemy of the American people.

That is except in your case, where bootlicking the murderous Putin mafia and his American stooges over America’s foreign policy interests is your preferred outcome.

You RIno’s have destroyed the rational Republican Party who knew how to govern in the best interest of the American people.

Reagan had it correct and destroyed Russia’s ability to threaten our nation and allies. You’re advocating of Putin’s policy goals is the real threat to American global interests.

In no sense can your preference for a Putin like government be considered conservative, or in the best long term interest of our country.

2014 was the time to give AID to Ukraine. Not 8 years into the war we led them into.

Fwiw to the extent that Russians are allowed to criticize Putin one of the things often said on their telegram channels and other social media is that it was actually Russia that messed up by not going all the way in 2015. If you remember the Battle of Debaltseve and a few other major fights back then, the Ukrainians were a mess, the separatists were doing well and the Russian army likely could have taken everything east of the Dnieper. They didn't, instead they entered the Minsk agreement and let the Ukr army get western funding, training and weapons for almost a decade. Then they invaded and we've seen the result.

Yeah. Thats something no one is talking about. Russia had an easier path for what they’re trying to do then than they do now.

Most of the Poli Board would label Reagan a RINO.

If you follow their line of thinking there are hardly any Republicans left. Their litmus test is that rigid.

I don’t think there is any litmus test anymore. If you got 5 of them in a room and ask what their specific policy points are to be a republican and pressed for specifics, you’d end up with 8 different answers.

There is no identity anymore.

TBF just look at this thread. If you don't 100% agree with all the policy positions I think are correct then you are libtard neocon Biden voter. It doesn't matter that you align on 99.5% of everything else you're still a damned Democrat somehow. It's all or nothing for some unknown reason.

There was a time when the Republican conservatives stood for the constitution, a strong national defense, and a balanced budget. Economic growth was kick started by tax cuts and less government regulation.

Ronald Reagan and his philosophy led the way. There was no litmus test. There was one big tent.

Those were the good ole days.
