Ukraine strikes Russian supply routes all the time but Russia doesn’t seem to do the same.
We may just not be hearing about it.
Russia claims they shoot down drones and missiles when the target of the strike is clearly burning in the background of the picture. Russia claims they have destroyed Abrams tanks and publishes altered pictures of Saudi Arabian Abrams tanks even though the Abrams have not arrived in Ukraine yet. If Russia had hit Ukraine's supply lines they would be announcing it on social media like crazy. Since they have not done so it is safe to assume that they have not hit Ukraine's supply lines.

They had a huge propaganda push about striking the main supply depot a few months back. Turned out that it was old missile storage from Soviet era with degraded rocket fuel an nothing more. Nutters like MacGregor and Ritter were all over this "major blow" like stink on shiite

It's not made up. I saw that tweet when it was posted. I don't know if it was later deleted, or if it's just hard to find, but it was posted.

Ukraine developing cruise missiles for strikes on Russia
30 August, 2023
Modernization of the R-360 cruise missile
Back in April 2023, a Ukranian Defense Ministry official told The Drive on condition of anonymity that designers were working on modifying the Neptune anti-ship missile to hit land targets.
As part of the project, the adapted missile was to receive a new guidance system, which had not yet been developed at the beginning of the invasion. In particular, certain types of chips were needed to complete the system, but the system was close to completion.
The media reports that the new missile can be launched from the same launcher as before. It has a maximum range of 400 kilometers and a warhead weighing 350 kilograms (150 kilograms for the anti-ship version).

Regardless: a lot of western gear is still working, progress is being made and the 76th VDV was sent south.
It's clear Russia is low on reserves and on the defensive.

Maybe start trying to use the link button instead of the image button

Maybe he missed that class in St. Petersburg. Registering twitter in Feb 2022 is a little suspicious

Don't confuse "Russia" with a couple of politard level deranged milbloggers.
The coverage is slanted on both sides.

My question is where does the 82nd go from here?
Unless there are minefields which need to be cleared first. I would assume they continue to push SE and get behind those first 2 Russian defense positions. If the 82nd and additional Ukrainian units get behind the first 2 lines then the Russians will have to pull back from their positions in NP and on Hill 166 or risk those getting cut off. Russia cannot afford to leave defenders in the first 2 lines because if the Ukrainians break through the 3rd line at Romanivs'ke then they can move SW along the T0401 highway and behind Russian lines all the way to the outskirts of Tokmak.

My question is where does the 82nd go from here? Would they try to push north of the town and collapse Russians positions to the north of the Russian fortified line in that area, dramatically widening the salient, or would they try to skirt the town to the south and push further south?
I'm thinking that it's the former.
I agree, pushing through the town to angle south would be ideal if they had air superiority but without it they are in for a long slog with dedicated firing positions hammering them.
North makes much more sense. The T0401 road (Red line) that runs from Tokmak to Polohy would be under serious threat along its entire length. If they can weaken the northern line sufficiently to bring Kins'ki (blue circle) into reach it opens the way to Berdyans'k while putting supply pressure along the lines back east.

You can’t hide context if you do that. Only posting the image lets you cherry pick

Useful, too, to look at the topography. If they stay south of Verbove, they could ride a ridge east and (as WeeWee said) also collapse it back west.
Worth noting that cutting the T0401 road also means breaking another fortified line, but I'm not sure anymore how big of a deal that is; some of those fortifications are much stronger than others.
