What is your background in ballistic missile defense to make such an authoritative statement?

I was wondering this as well.

These bastards aren't going out without taking a bunch of Ruskies with them are they?

I'm honestly shocked at how well they seem to be doing. They must have stockpiled a lot more weaponry than anyone let on. They have to have better tech that the Russians. That's the only way they can withstand being so outnumbered. That and better tactics I guess.

I do believe that we are at a point in history where dissent at home in Russia can actually put real pressure on their leadership. I don't know that we've ever really had that before. Couple it with the fact that Putin and crew did not prep the populace with massive amounts of "rah rah" propaganda in effort to gain public support for this war, and that they still haven't implemented their usual gameplan of broadcasting the successes of their troops to the people back home, and you have a Russian people who aren't quite as brainwashed as usual.

Here’s a major difference between now and the 80s: people in dictatorships (save for NK) now know what the outside world is like. They’ve seen American films and tv shows. Almost all of them have spoken to Americans and Europeans whether it be in person or online.

These dictatorships can’t survive like the dictatorships of old because of this. Xi and his government would get brutally murdered if anything like the Great Leap Forward happens again, and the same can be said with Putin and his.

U.S. is seeing indications that Russian forces are taking risk-adverse actions to protect themselves during combat (not civilians, themselves), U.S. official says.

Big question: Is that risk-adverse behavior because Russian forces are following orders or because they're not?

They know the terrain better. And more importantly, they're fighting for their home and family.

That's one hell of a motivator.

They’re the most advanced in the world. The thing is it’s incredibly difficult to defend against an ICBM.

Since Nukes are controlled electronically and not by impact, could you disable incoming ICBMs by launching our own nukes in their path and detonating it high in the atmosphere over the ocean close to the enemy nuke anc EMP frying it?

We do know, unless we have some super secret defensive anti-missile system that is unlike anything the world has ever seen. Apart from that, we do know what the U.S. is capable of.

You have to be really arrogant to think that, especially when China launched a space nuke six months ago. For all we know, our government is sitting on an antimatter bomb.

Motivation is a huge factor in war. That’s my guess since I’m betting most of Russia’s soldiers have no idea what the hell they’re doing there.

One to corroborate this:

So it is suggested that maybe Putin is pulling a Biden and calling the troops to scramble their asses out of there and leave all of their weapons to the enemy? Don't think Putin and Biden are in the same class.

I dont think the Russians soldiers were prepared for urban combat and it seems like the majority of them were not expecting hostility. im not a military guy, but it would probably take months to train soldiers for the type of invasion they were planning. Seems like their military was routed to the border only weeks before this started.

They don't have to be ordered to leave those weapons. They've done plenty of that without an order.

It feels like around 24 hours ago I read that the intelligence was that Kiev was surrounded and that Russia was planning a medieval style siege.
