When you plan to fight a war in complete secrecy, when you stage for a war in complete secrecy, and when you launch a war in complete secrecy, who would have ever thought support for said war would be low and that would impact morale?

Any news on the southern front from Crimea?

It was posted earlier that the troops coming out of Crimea had linked up with forces in the east near the LNR & DNR (Or whatever acronym those two separatist areas are). They had effectively encircled one of the major cities that was putting up a big fight there (can't remember the name of the place).

Oddly, they sent their best formation, the First Guards Tank Army, to the south and they are doing somewhat better, although still not rolling over everything in sight. For whatever reason they sent the B team to Kyiv.

It feels like around 24 hours ago I read that the intelligence was that Kiev was surrounded and that Russia was planning a medieval style siege.

Maybe they should send out an 80 mile long convoy to help refuel & resupply their 40 mile long convoy, that currently seems like the Russian thing to do

I don’t think you understand.

If they planned for a siege then they would stop advancing. So either the reports 24 hours ago were wrong and this is something to celebrate or this is all going to their plan and it’s about to be a shite show for Kiev

Mariupol. The linking of the separatist areas with Crimea has been a strategic goal since before the invasion began.

I don't think you understand. The initial report that Kyiv was "surrounded" was backtracked on. It could be at this point, but I haven't seen anything definitive stating that.

Separatist sources have released a message asking residents of #Mariupol to evacuate "in order to save your life, that of your children and loved ones". They claim to have set up two humanitarian corridors.

Those who followed the Syrian civil war know exactly what that means

It means they will bomb Mariupol indiscriminately (in fact they already are and have been, but this suggests it will escalate further)

You have to be really arrogant to think that, especially when China launched a space nuke six months ago. For all we know, our government is sitting on an antimatter bomb.

If China launched a space nuke six months ago, then you would have to assume we've had the ability to do the same ten years ago since they likely developed it from stolen IP from us.

I did fall for the Ghost of Kiev and I’m completely unsure of the status of the 13 soldiers on Snake Island, so yes we are all vulnerable.

That is indeed my assumption which makes me dismiss anyone saying we know every type of weapon we have.
