Is there a workaround to watch these videos without downloading the app?
It plays for me just fine on Chrome mobile.

quote:The U.S. currently has 36 GMD interceptors. Each one has a 55% chance to intercept an ICBM in simulated tests. In order to ensure that percentage rises to 98%, the U.S. would have to launch 5 interceptors for a single incoming ICBM.
A full Russian launch? No. But the question originally asked was a single ICMB launch from Russia. A single ICBM, or even a handful, are not getting through.
That means there is an 86% chance of striking down all 7, even using 5 on 1. Then you’re out of missiles and are completely vulnerable.
Our system is not good enough to defend against Russia. It’s only good enough to defend a limited attack from a country like North Korea.

Damn, how advanced is China and N Korea’s systems? Have our interceptors been updated in awhile?

They’re the most advanced in the world. The thing is it’s incredibly difficult to defend against an ICBM.
And my math was wrong originally. It’s 86% to stop all 7, not 59%.

I’ve always ASSumed we had the tech to easily intercept any nukes heading our way. I’ve never done any research because seemed it would never even happen to begin with, but now it’s a possibility

You’re forgetting about the laser satellites that will blast them bitches at their apogee point baw. Then the rods of god will drop down in retaliation.
Or at least that is what would happen in the science fiction books.

Jim Bianca thinks it’s coordinated and that if it happens we’ll write very strong lettered words to the UN and that’s about it.

That's pretty terrible considering the potential risks.

Again, the original question was against a single missile launch.
ETA: And that's just GMDs. We also have THAAD batteries in Guam and Hawaii.

In a somewhat related note, recent events have really put a damper on my love for the Fallout franchise, which are pretty much the only games I ever play.

I’m sure the military has revealed everything we have to the public.
