Through some more scrolling of Twitter last night I see only the Wagner troops who did NOT commit to the March to Moscow would be enveloped into the MOD. Those who marched with/for him will also be in Belarus with him. Don’t know until we know though.

This whole thing will go down as the most bizarre mutiny in history.

As for its overall impact on the war, that remains to be seen. It appears the effect may be minimal, if you can call the removal and disillusion of a warring nation’s best mechanized corps minimal. I have seen reports of what appears to be some success in the third wave of the Ukrainian offensive. Though it’s too early to tell to what degree.

My gut tells me a week from now when we’ve had more time to digest the events of this week, we’ll find the situation little changed other than some minor adjustments to the front. Basically, I think the stalemate remains for the foreseeable future.

Considering that the Russian Orthodox Church has been controlled by the KGB for decades and now the FSB with its patriarch a former KGB agent, you remain looney toons

Sarcasm or troll. Because there's no way anybody with at least one functioning brain cell believes this.

Agree. I keep seeing suggestions that either:

A) Wagner can now be used for a renewed assault from the North coming from Belarus
B) Lukashenko better watch his back with what’s likely a very large portion of Wagner and Prighozin in Belarus, especially after expelling them years ago due to a coup attempt there

I’m not sure A) does much other than lead to a slaughter. I theory I guess that would also help Putin get rid of them without creating a martyr, at least in the sense that costs him.

Yeah there is zero chance they keep any of their offensive capability.

I didn't realize that Wagner had been hit by Russian forces in Ukraine a few days ago which Prig publicly said was directed by Gerasimov and Shoigu. Russian brass called his comments a provocation and when Prig directed his troops back into Russia it was on.

Really is a chaotic shitshow of lack of control from the top.

So did this actually happen?

It did, or Prigozhin did allege Friday that Shoigu and Gerasimov killed his men in Ukraine, which set off the whole thing. AP reported on it and I've seen a couple of Russian Youtubers mention it.

PMCs are technically illegal in Russia but Wagner has been allowed to operate because they could benefit the State. I wouldn't be surprised if military brass said enough and decided to go after them after Prig has been hammering them publicly without consequences for quite some time. Anybody else that had been criticizing the general war effort like Prig has would have been in the Gulag a long time ago.

I'm on the fence. The video of the area that was supposedly hit, did not look like a missle strike. No crater, no bodies, just some minor defoliation of the trees. Two fires burning that were clearly set. You could see the kindling they used neatly piled into a pyramid. None of this has passed the smell test

I agree, the video seemed staged. The fires look ridiculous

Oh, Wagner is going to swim, trudge, wade through extensive marshes or march down its few roads?

Invasion from Belorussia makes zero sense, just like it made no sense on Feb 24th.

I have to wonder when Prig will decide he’s had enough fun and really gets out of dodge and goes to live on his own private island or in a compound in a beautiful safe country somewhere.
It’s not like he doesn’t have the money

There are like 40 PMC's in Russia, its not just Wagner. Wagner is the one you hear about.

Guess it was all fake. That's why Russia dug trenches in Moscow and Wagner was laying out mines in Rostov-on-Don just to make it look real. And the aircraft were just projections and the corpses were just paid actors

This shite is like the best reality show ever! As the Russian’s Turn. We have just gotten to witness what a true shitshow Russia is the last couple days in fantastic fashion. This was great. Don’t smoke but I feel like I need a cigarette after all that. Also it’s going to be funny to see how long Prigozhin draws breath. A deal with Putin is as good as one ply toilet paper, that fricker is killing him. Putin will not forget and Luka will be a good little dog and do as his master says. Prigozhin and PMC Wagner are not long for this world.

So Wagner has been building up forces for weeks but it was this "missile strike" that that forced them act? Uh ok.
