Maybe we should start sending the Ukrainians a bunch of citizen owned drones
That has been happening. I know a local business owner around here that bought 100 drones and shipped them to Ukraine. I'd imagine he's not alone.
ETA: corrected number of drones.

Ukrainian SBU forces conducted a number (reportedly 14) of drone-deployed munition strikes on Russian targets, destroying 7 tanks, 2 D-30s, an MT-12, and a UTV.
The drone used is definitely interesting, a custom heavyweight hexacopter dropping modified PG-7 HEAT warheads.
Yes, that's the "White Wolves" unit that I mentioned yesterday. They have had tremendous success using those giant drones at night.

Update on the southern fronts -- let's move from west to east:
South of Kherson, @NOELreports mentions that "Rybar says AFU grabbed a foothold by landing troops near Oleshki." So Ukraine is again working to regain positions lost in the flood.
Whatever happened in the Nova Kakhovka last night, it doesn't seem to have been significant, as no one is discussing it this morning.
Latest Rybar map of the south:
Rybar says:
Other Russian channels also talk about the push to take this small hamlet.
Just a bit to
Robotyne is due south of Orikhiv. Dorozhnyanka is further east, due south of Huliapole.
Further east, south of Velyka Novosilka, on what has seemed to be the "main axis," there are lots of reports of fighting, but no reports of Ukrainian advances.
Going further east, there's also no news that I've seen of anything more about yesterday's advance south of Vuhledar.
All in all, it really seems that this is going to be an extremely slow-moving offensive. It might end up being a fall offensive at this rate.

In the morning, units of the 128th Guards Rifle Brigade, after a nightly regrouping in Lobkove, resumed their attack on Pyatikhatki. Several tanks and other armored vehicles are involved in the offensive. Now the fighting is going on on the western outskirts of Pyatikhatki, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to gain a foothold. Several more tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are concentrated in reserve near Lobkovy.
Other Russian channels also talk about the push to take this small hamlet.

WarGonzo states that the AFU made progress towards Robotyne and managed to 'take new positions towards Dorozhnyanka'.
In included a map of the location of Dorozhnyanka as it is not so widely covered yet.

It is impressive for its scale. There appears to be significant pressure being applied throughout the front. This is no spear offensive.

I'm fairly certain that no one but Russians thought that anything was going on at Nova Kakhovka yesterday. Was it so that Russians could claim defeating a Ukrainian crossing?

Just maybe Ukraine has already sent over some of those biowarfare lab produced mosquitos to his neighborhood which will turn him gay.

Other than not using Nukes, tell us how they are not “all in” with this debacle?
You know things like they would commit the entire air force and not care about losses, the navy would be shelling constantly from the coast, strategic bombing of cities rather than nuisance rockets, and ALL of its forces committed rather than the vast majority sitting around on backass bases doing nothing.
This is being treated by Russia in many respects just like the US treats foreign excursions that have no effect on national survival, think Vietnam we could have won but chose to leave with our tail between our legs for political reasons which is exactly what is about to happen to Russia.

Exactly.
And he has the nerve to call us "simps".

Entire air force - would get mauled by air defenses at this point.
Navy shelling the coast - ships get sunk by Stormshadow.
Strategic bombing of cities - massacred by air defenses.
Commit all ground forces - they have tried going on the offense. The only place where they gained ground was Bakhmut and that was at an absurd cost in lives. If they bunch their troops to attack in force it makes for a target rich environment and leaves other areas exposed for attack.
At the moment Russia has little choice other than to play defense. They are punched out. They could mobilize but that won't help for a few months and would lead to increased arms deliveries from NATO. What that gets them is more dead Russians and more stuff destroyed, and a hit on their productivity. Other than a tactical nuke the only choice is to hunker down and hope they can hold off the Ukrainians until Ukraine wears out. Or they could declare victory and pull their troops back to Russia.

Man who woulda thunk that even Russians do the “I have a black friend” thing
Posted on 6/16/23 at 12:10 pm to WhereisAtlanta
For starters, the Navy would be at the bottom of the Black Sea if it shelled the coast. There's many more reason, like equipment and ammo lacking
Try harder next time.
