The Kakhovskaya HPP was blown up by the Russian occupying forces.
11 min. Currently, the scale of the destruction, the speed and volumes of water, and the likely areas of inundation are being clarified. All services are working. The situation is being monitored.

can imagine scenarios where either side blows up the dam, but I can also see it being an accident. The water in the reservoir has been far, far higher than normal, because the dam has not been managed properly.
I think the odds of this being an accident are really small, mainly due to this occurring the day major offensive operations appear to have been kicked off.

UKR armed forces: Russia blew up the dam and is evacuating Kherson Oblast.

There is a large evaporation pond adjacent to the nuke plant.
Edit: Add two large cooling towers.

That's what the "mayor" said. He's also said that the destruction if the dam is a serious terrorist act.

Sounding like it is possible the prior damage may have lead to the collapse of that section of the dam.

Well there goes the decades long association with Russia for arms. India now with the USA.
That's massive both in terms of Russia, but also potentially China..

I'm not on the level of war expert like you Generals on this thread, but yall really believe that Russia did this dam? It's infrastructure for Russian controlled land in Crimea. Another couple billion will be headed to Zelinskey to launder.. I mean fix the damage

the flooding downstream might also make a crossing upstream of the dam easier… as the river will become smaller here and easier to cross.
What about the “mud flats” on both sides north of the dam that will be created after the water level goes down? Won’t that be a new obstacle for ukr and help ru?

No serious person believes this was Russia. Now whether this was Ukraine or the US is a hard question to answer

What if with the recent uptick in intensity, the already damaged dam, holding back historically high waters, just gave way? Was there any recent shelling in the area?
The problem with this argument is that why would the powerhouse also give way? One hole is explainable, two aren't.
My bet is that it is the same crew that blew up the Nordstream pipeline.

BS, it’s only a question of who? I don’t believe in coincidences.

There is unconfirmed video of an underwater explosion on Twitter.

This isn't as straightforward as Nordstream, though

Look it was obviously a major frick up. Which side has been committing major military frick ups the most?
Here is how is probably happened. The Russians were aiming for the power sub station or something else and missed and hit the freaking damn.
The safest place to be during a Russian Artillery attack. Right where they are targeting. Anywhere else your fricked
