I agree, Trumpsters are in bed with Putin. That’s why I voted Biden. Anyhooo, hopefully Russia pulls this thing off and takes Ukraine soon.

Eta: Thought I was in a different Ukraine thread for some reason and not main one. I promised I wouldn’t do that in this one anymore. Won’t do it again ………in this thread

At least 8 Russians billionaires have publicly come out against the war so pulling diplomats might actually spur even more Russians to be willing to challenge Putin. It seems like he may have vastly overestimated his own support.

Just leaving classified briefing on Ukraine crisis. A few takeaways that I can share:

1/ Confirmation that the Russians have fallen behind their timeline. Ukrainian resistance has been fierce and there have been multiple Russian equipment and logistics failures.

...

3/ The ability to keep supply lines running to Ukraine remains alive, but Russia will try to encircle and cut off Kiev in the next several weeks. The fight for Kiev will be long and bloody and Ukrainians are rapidly preparing for street to street combat.

4/ The U.S. and allies are coordinating to not only freeze the assets of Putin and his oligarch allies, but to seize those assets as well. This is likely a further step than Putin’s inner circle anticipated.

The Russians must think Milley is their Chief of Staff and they're in Afghanistan.

That fricking convoy is as ominous as the Death Star. If Ukraine has even a single plane left, at least kamikaze the front of it to make a road block.

Even by Russian figures of Ukrainian planes lost (which is probably inflated), there should still be some planes left. Probably holding back for the defense of Kyiv once the battle commenced.

But I think Ukraine is overplaying their defensive strategy. They need to go on the offense and *try* to strike the convoy.

So, of this is accurate, the Ukranians will be running missions out of Poland.

I hope I'm wrong but Russia is going to get uber aggressive due the aggressive sanctions, the whole world against them and countries allowing attacks to be launched from behind their border

Not sure how NATO stays out of the war if Poland becomes this involved. Which is probably by design.

It sure does look like bait. I'm not sold on that info being 100% reliable. I guess we will see.

I doubt a true communist would flock to Putin, who is not one. Also this one is just a dick who sounds like he jettisoned before being caught out in the crap he was dealing in.

It’s not much of a thing in the US, but there is no shortage of far left Putin sympathizers running around, especially in Europe and Latin America. Poking the eye of Western imperialists, support for Chavez, etc.

It could be argued that Poland is offensive in their actions and it doesn't fall under Article 5.

I found this dude who studies Russian military capabilities interesting. Take it with a gain of salt because I don't know much about him. He did post a map on Feb 24th and it looks really accurate.

Just to say I agree and that on Day 5 we're seeing clear adjustments. Russian forces have halted their attempts at 'thunder runs,' are pausing advances, pulling up logistics and support. I think we're going to see BTGs fighting as whole units, fires, airpower, etc.

Also, looking at day 5, seeing major adjustments. Russian military is suspending unsupported thunder runs, resupplying, and reorganizing. Ukraine's military has performed rly well, but I think we're going to see a different Russian approach moving forward.
