The reason that the World Bank funded with Western oil and service companies brought back Russia's oil production almost to levels pre 1988

If you ask me the CV90 is better than the Bradley with the only thing the Bradley has over the CV90 being the TOW missiles. This is not to say the Bradley is a bad vehicle either because it’s not. It’s an extremely capable vehicle but it has to be used the proper way. It’s not going to win many battles against tanks but it can destroy them when it needs to but it has to be stationary when firing the TOW. If they use it as a support for tanks and as infantry support it will do great. The CV90 to me is right up there as the best IFV in the world along with the German Puma with the Bradley right behind them. The Archer though for my money is hands down 100% the very best SPG in the world and it’s really not close. It is an absolute beast and just shows the quality of Swedish manufacturing. The CV90, Archer and Gripen can all make a case for being the best weapons platform in their respective areas. There’s a reason the U.S. is looking to buy lots of Archers. They just have no equal on the battlefield right now and they are going to send Russians back to the motherland in boxes by the bushel.

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 20 May 2023

In the last four days, Russia has highly likely redeployed up to several battalions to reinforce the Bakhmut sector.

This follows Ukrainian tactical gains on the flanks of the contested Donetsk Oblast town through mid-May and publicly aired doubts about the commitment of Wagner Group forces to continue fighting in the sector.

With Russia likely maintaining relatively few uncommitted combat units in Ukraine, the redeployment represents a notable commitment by the Russian command.

Russia's leadership likely continue to see capturing Bakhmut as the key immediate war aim which would allow them to claim some degree of success in the conflict.

Yeah, of course, I believe Biden never had any intention of sending them and was just being his usual liar self.

Civil unrest/power struggle is likely going to happen regardless now, unless the west just gives up and Ukraine collapses. The English seem to have gotten away with a somewhat tit for tat approach on storm shadow because Russia has been using more modern long range missiles. Well Russia has supposedly used their more modern tanks and planes in the war

I don't recognize the source but the article seems legit.
It's the Royal United Services Institute, a military/security think tank in the UK.

Eyeball to eyeball: Estonia stares down Russia

quote:

Estonians at the conference were adamant: Unless Russia is utterly defeated in Ukraine, there is no reason to expect Putin will change his strategic objective. Their NATO allies, they said, are still operating on several “myths” about the war. Like the idea that this is “Putin’s war.” It’s not, the Estonian Ministry of Defense claims in a discussion paper. In spite of massive Russian casualties on the battlefield, there’s widespread support for the war among the Russian public. “The imperialist mindset is historically rooted in Russia,” the authors argue.

“Russia has never been a democratic country and is unlikely to become one…Russia’s leadership has been preparing the society for a large-scale war with the West for the past 20 years…Even if Putin were stopped, the next man in line would not be any different, because Russia is not any different.”

The only thing the Russians know or respect is force. They have to be brought to their knees with force for there to ever be a change in Russia. Nobody wants a destabilized Russia because that would breed more extremists. It’s a very fine line to walk but the hope needs to be that Russia is beaten back and humiliated on the world’s stage much like they are being humiliated right now, causing a regime change. The change can’t be another Putin crony like Medvedev. The younger Russian generation has to step up to lead if and when Russia is forced to leave Ukraine or sign a peace deal with them not the party with the upper hand. Older Russians still believe in the Soviet regime and think the west are the enemy and all the ex soviet bloc nations are rightfully Russia’s for the taking so it has to be a new, fresh government that really implements change which will make the average Russian’s life better because they will not have sanctions from most of the world. First and foremost though Russia must be defeated militarily to have any chance of ousting Putin. Then it’s at least possible for change to happen.

If Kenner was turned into a fortress and defended by a hundred thousand of Ukraine's most experienced soldiers armed with NATO weapons, sure. It was taken by a PMC that has only been in existence for 9 years

Russia's military is so incompetent that they could barely capture Kenner.

Oh, and if we don't spend billions of dollars and risk nuclear war they'll conquer all of Europe next!

You can't have it both ways so pick one jackass.

You realize that the second largest military in Europe with the full support, training, equipment and intelligence resources of NATO was just defeated by a mercenary-for-hire outfit commanded by a loon right?

Because the rest of us realize it.

Alter boy. "Defeated" is big word and I'm not certain it fits these facts.

STD is that you?
