Which is why Russia has resorted to carpet bombing Kharkiv with Cluster Bombs, which are banned and constitute war crimes for using them. None of the Russian leadership and oligarchs who support this are going to come out unscathed.

During an emergency parliamentary session on Ukraine on Sunday, Chancellor Scholz announced an additional $113bn (£84bn) for the German army.

Undeterred, Mr Scholz went on to announce drastic measures that would have been unthinkable a week ago, including a constitutional commitment to Nato's military spending target of 2% of GDP - and he confirmed that Germany would be sending weapons direct to Ukraine.

Within a few days Vladimir Putin has managed to do what Nato allies have spent years trying to achieve: a massive increase of military spending in Germany.

This is arguably one of the biggest shifts ever seen in Germany's post-war foreign policy.

But Russia's invasion of Ukraine has shocked and stunned Germany's government and German voters.

Putin gambled and just lost because he has coalesced Europe with his action and now they realize Trump was correct all along and are quickly adopting his positions on NATO.

So was trump wrong when he said putin was savvy for invading?

Two weeks ago he was brilliant. Now his traditional adversaries are arming tf up and his economy has been obliterated.

this may be a stupid question, but is the US providing Ukraine with satellite and drone reconnaissance? Would that violate any rules of engagement?

Biden has finally returned to the White House… and of course he’s outside not within 40 feet of another person masking up blindly ignoring the press asking him questions: Twitter

It’s been dominating the news I’ve been following this morning.

Russia's bombing and targeting of civilian areas, whether all entirely intentional or not, has been going on since nearly the beginning. I guess we just got to the part of the script where "the news" talks about it. This is not a new development since the start of the invasion.

Also the playground in the background is creepy. Of course someone who regularly sniffs kids hair and kisses them would have a playground overlooking his office.

For starters those are two different points.

Was trump right to use his position to attempt to get NATO members to actually meet the agreed upon obligations so NATO could be more NATO and less the US with some spectators and waterboys cheering us on? Yes.

Was Trump right when he thought Putin was savvy for invading Ukraine? Turns out no. His point about it occurring with present appearance of American weakness remains, but it seems just as much Putin miscalculated the western response, so did he. We’ve spent some time wondering if Putin was pulling a rope a dope strategy on the world with his tactics in Ukraine and Biden may be the ultimate rope a dope play by the west. His weakness and fumbling of Afghanistan undoubtedly had some hand in the timing of the current war, but has lead to almost literally cutting Russia off from the world which is not worth the benefits of a puppet state in Ukraine.

Trump says dumb crap all the time and he’s no longer President, so not relevant for the time being.

Not only satellite imagery but I imagine the data from our early warning radar aircraft that are constantly orbiting on the Ukrainian border is being fed to the Ukrainians in real time.

Economics will recover and don’t matter when your neighbor has nuclear missiles pointing at you. This was a do or die situation for Russia
