This Italian source says that Italy is considering buying 250 new Leopard 2A7s.
Our NATO allies deserve a lot of blame for the poor condition of their militaries, but this would be a very positive step. The Italian Navy has also really been expanding.

I don't know about that -- I saw a random tweet and then spent five minutes on Wikipedia.
But thank you.
Not just the one comment though, plenty from you and a few other regulars who do more than the drive by argument or just share update without much commentary.

The EU/NATO has said it will be difficult to join those organization for Georgia if they pass this law.

We keep seeing these kinds of reports, but the planes never make it to Ukraine. I think that what Duda means is that Poland will give the MiG-29s when others are willing to give F-16s, Mirage, Eurofighters, etc.

Poland is ready to hand over the rest of the MiG-29 that Poland has to Ukraine as part of an international coalition, Polish President Andrzej Duda said in an interview with CNN International in Abu Dhabi.
P.S: Poland has a little less than 30 MiG29 in stock.

Possible they’re being denied F16s for themselves to backfill the Migs vs F16s to Ukraine? Their F35s they’ve purchased done begin arriving until next year and come through 2026.

Why would they give up half of their fleet of combat aircraft without replacements immediately available when there is threatening nation in their backyard?

For the same reason that Poland has given so much other equipment to Ukraine: Ukraine is using it to fight that very threat.

New round of clashes between protesters and riot police in Tbilisi tonight.

Romania is getting onboard with beefing up their military as well by the looks of it with a spending bill going to the politicians shortly to purchase Abrams MBT's.
Defence News - After Poland, Romania wants to buy American Abrams tanks.
Romania Insider - Romania to buy 56 M1 Abrams from US.

Yep just been reading about it the President has come out in support of them apparently and intends to veto the law that has sparked the protests.

Yeah I get it dude but they’re not stupid. They’re not just going to give their entire military away. That would be insane. They’re probably next on the chopping block after Ukraine.

Honestly probably not for two reasons
1) NATO
2) Moldova would be a much easier non-NATO target that Russia already has soldiers on the territory

I’m in the middle. Agree with both sides, but in Polands defense they’re the one Russia is literally saying is next on top of their history. I get hesitancy. I get their donations. A lot of US/NATO equipment run through Poland so I would assume that provides some comfort on the tanks and artillery donations.
I could be wrong, but I thought Poland was also set to receive some Abrams to replenish tank donations and/or were part of a purchase recently in their string of defense contracts in the last year that would be delivered decently quickly. Seems like the plane deliveries take longer unless we were to send them our F16s more likely to be at or close to combat shape than European stock.

I really think it's Kazakhstan, and the Kazakhs know it, which is why they have done a complete 180 on Russia since last February.

Doesn’t matter. They’re not going to leave themselves completely defenseless based on a “probably not.”

Why would it be Kazakhstan over another smaller target they could more easily roll over to tout as a "redemptive win" after all the troubles the military has had in Ukraine?

I think that's one "red line" that Russia would respond to and potentially put ships transporting Bradley's etc at risk

But that's also part of the story of how this war has benefited the US taxpayer, because without the war, the Pentagon would have probably not pursued GLSDB
Another extremely beneficial result of this conflict going beyond 3 days is that I imagine a ton of drone programs that might have been red-lit or minimally funded likely will get big bright green lights now.
Drone and counter-drone systems are a big part of the future of warfare. I think the US saw this early with large drones not so sure we saw it as clearly wth small drones until 8 months ago.

this, if nothing else, is this war has shown the worlds planners that drone and counter drone warfare is something that needs funding....
