Now this thread is getting more interesting. I wanted to be a helicopter pilot, in 1973. But I was the "smart one", with a football scholarship. My very brief time playing for coach Billy Brewer, ended when I wrapped my leg around a goal post. Compound, external break. Entire family served, including my 3 brothers.
Lost 2 of them.
All I have to say about that.
Ended up as a government contractor, working with a bunch of retired Colonels.

A Russian strike in Poland means article 5.
Nato does not fear Russian response anymore. Especially Poland.

It’s nice to confirm what most of us have already been saying, why would anybody publish where the repair depo for western MBTs will be? That’s almost asking for a Russian missile strike on a NATO nation.
There are no secrets with satellite snooping except as to where the weapons of mass destruction were in Iraq back when.

I knew several guys and one gal in Deridder area who never served and then worked as government contractors at Ft Polk. Even the young captain who retired early did nothing but shuffle paperwork as contractors

Pretty "cush gig". I could spend thousands upon thousands of tax dollars, with no problem. But God help me if I spent a dime on doughnuts for a meeting.

WMD weapons were found buried.
Satellites did see modules being on trucks to Syria and into cargo planes for Russia. We did find two semi trailers with chemical process equipment all piped up and ready to make such chemical weapons.
What those who have never seen the one off of chem weapon agents manufacturing, herbicide and pesiticide manufacturing. don't seem to get is that these are not big plants. To make what is needed requires a until that can fit on a bobtail truck bed. What Iraq didn't care about was all the waste treatment processes and that takes acreage.

You could send the Russians the GPS coordinates to that repair facility and they wouldn’t do shite as long as it’s in Poland. The Russians know they are getting whipped on by the Ukrainians that they definitely don’t want any of Poland even without NATO. They would roll through them like diarrhea through a screen door.

If you want to believe these were the WMD Cheney was talking about to justify the war, I suppose you can. But by properly describing them,it would not have had profound the effect on public opinion that the threat of “mushroom clouds” did, when Bush and Powell employed those terms. Colin Powell is quick to say he was misled We all were.

I personally inspected and put my hands on, with nitrile gloves, 2 pilots plants previously used to develop herbicides/pesticides which were large enough to make chemical weapons agents. I assessed the equipment for resale as these are the same items used in pharma, specialty chemicals and all sorts of processes. I buy and sell such as my source of income. This was in the Fall of 2002 and discovered when an iraqi born R&D chemist turned himself in for having prepped them and also sending formulations back to Iraq. Saddam had his entire extended family as hostages. 9/11 so disgusted him, that he turned himself in.
I know a HELLUVA a lot more than that idiot Scptt Ritter. He must have kissed a lot of butts to get his position in the late 1990's

Nothing used in farming, unless farmers have to use equipment made of Hastelloy C, or glass lined, poly ain't going to work. Smaller scale plants than the giant Roundup plant in Luling. At a Mobil Chemical plant, after BASF herbicides and pesticides bought it. There was one unit to make a certain chemical similar to chem weapons agents that could fit on a bobtail bed, south of Beaumont. I came close to buying it to sell the equipment. They wanted too much money for me to make decent enough profit with most of items likely taking several years to sell.
Presently, I, with a partner, am about to buy a plant to make food ingredients and a pesticide/herbicide manufacturing is interested in some of the equipment.

So, setting aside for the moment the “mushroom cloud” perfidy, what you are saying is they had the capacity to manufacture chemical agents, not that they had actually done so, weaponized it and developed a delivery system.
Or did you put your nitrile gloves on WMD?

Just for grins. In 2006, I was on a tour of the Hanford Nuclear site and they showed us the old nuclear reactors, they had stored in a BIG open pit. Was told it was done that way so the Russians could see them from space, for verification.
Also saw where they were manufacturing these Titanium containers, (that cost over 100k each), to hold spent nuclear waste. They were about the size of a 55-gal barrel and meant to be stacked on top of one another in a vertical shaft at the Yucca Mountain facility. They had also designed these "monoliths" with what looked like hieroglyphs, so whomever came across them in 10k years would know there was danger.
Saw a lot of weird shite on that trip. BTW, the only reason I was there, was to baby sit our CEO's girlfriend.

Does it really matter? Saddam violated the 1991 ceasefire agreement multiple times. The US led coalition had a legal and legitimate reason to invade Iraq. Russia doesn’t have a legal reason to be in Ukraine or Crimea.

Yeah, frick those redhats, komrade. $100B is peanuts and wouldn't even put a dent into infrastructure over here in the US. Our tax money is better spent funding an overseas battle. Our border is no where near the threat of a Russian invasion across the Aleutian Islands. I am looking forward to watching Kommandante Zelensky march unto Moscow with the new StacyAbram tanks, Bradleys, and F-16s. Hell, I even bet we could convince the pentagon to build us some new inventory to replace the current shitty equipment we are sending them.
Also, I hope the Taliban tricks Yuri Orlov into a beheading when he tries to buy the $7B in weapons that the bad orange man left behind in afghanistan.
