Lockheed ready with F-16s as Kyiv allies revive debate over fighter jets
Lockheed Martin has said it stands ready to meet demand for its F-16 aircraft as some of Ukraine’s closest European allies revive efforts to provide fighter jets to Kyiv.
The US-German decision to send tanks to Ukraine has reignited discussions, which European defence officials cautioned were at an early stage.
Frank St. John, chief operating officer of Lockheed Martin, the largest US defence contractor, told the FT that there was “a lot of conversation about third party transfer of F-16s” — whereby countries would re-export their US jets to Ukraine to defend its airspace. Lockheed is not directly involved in talks regarding the potential delivery of military aircraft to Kyiv.
However, St. John said the company was “going to be ramping production on F-16s in Greenville [South Carolina] to get to the place where we will be able to backfill pretty capably any countries that choose to do third party transfers to help with the current conflict”

Dutch foreign minister Wopke Hoekstra said last week that the Netherlands would consider any requests to send F-16s with “an open mind” and that there were “no taboos” on military support. The Netherlands has around 40 F-16s and is in the process of phasing them out through the purchase of more advanced F-35s.
In addition to the Netherlands, seven other European NATO countries fly F-16s.

think the point is that they've very clearly demonstrated that this notion that Russians are going to roll into Poland, Germany, or Finland is completely absurd even though the media and the MIC keeps saying its inevitable if we don't do x, y, or z.
When they need $100 billion it's about Russia on the march to reestablish the USSR.
When it's actual discussion of Russian capabilities, they are incompetent and it took them 6 months and 20k dead to capture a strategically insignificant village.
It honestly is hard to follow this logic.
Only NATO can actually win this war, all the money and NATO weaponry we can send won't do it if that's the goal. It will need to be NATO soldiers led by Americans.
The American people will never support this over 150km of eastern Ukraine.
It's madness.

F-16's and A-1 Abrams. We might as well just send our troops because Putin is going to see it at us already joining the war.

Russia mobilized 150,000 soldiers in the fall and everything is pointing to a major spring offensive.

Can we get one of your awesome maps for an update?
Maybe also an update from OML on his predictions
Also let’s just go full circle and maybe get a certain poster to post a map that’s 1.5 months outdated trying to prove Russian gains

I intentionally don’t follow this much at this point but wasn’t giving Ukraine tanks and planes considered very likely to result in further escalation that would bring NATO directly into the conflict? What’s changed?

Time....i guess. People were also worried Russia would directly strike NATO countries to disrupt their ability to move the tanks
Turns out we dont have to worry about that

Russia considers our use of depleted Uranium munitions to be the equivalent to a nuclear dirty bomb.

Bakhmut has Russians on 3 sides of it now. Towns all across Donbas have been falling to the Russian the past few weeks.
Funny how the board ignores this. Ukraine is desperate for tanks that won’t be there for many months because they are getting stoned in Donbas.

Aren't there Abrams in Germany they could ship? Or do they have to specially assemble export micros in the states? Maybe without the depleted uranium armor.

So, that’s a no to the map?

Poor fella. The Russians are the only ones advancing and capturing.

Soviet Union provided Vietnam with, among other things, 1,357 missile launching systems, more than 18,300 missiles of different types, 316 fighter jets, 52 warships, 21 transportation ships, 687 tanks, 601 armored vehicles and 1,332 artillery
This was through 1975
Us giving Ukraine jets and tanks is not the first time this has been done in wars involving the us and USSR/Russia
I’m sure a search of North Korea in the early 50s would be the same.

Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania would be easy for Russia to roll through in no time. They are tiny nations. That is why they joined NATO ASAP after gaining independence from Russia.
Your logic isn't logic at all due it doesn't take such things into consideration. Instead you are trying to justify your pro Russian thinking

Gonna need one of your classic super zoomed in maps to actually see the major advances.

The Korean War was 100% a proxy war fought on behalf of Russia. When they got their behinds kicked like no tomorrow then handed it off to the Chinese.
