RON PAUL: Did Ukraine Try To Lie Us Into WW3?
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: not the first time Ukrainian nationalist bums tried it. Recall "no fly zone" requests.

You idiots can take your politics back to the political board now.

Speaking of them, looks like Larry Leo lent his ability to be vague to the BBC:

If by defeat you mean giving away two Republics in the east and Crimea to Russia, then yes. In return, they get to preserve what's left of their electrical grid and not turn into Syria 2.0. I don't understand Ukrainain obsession with their Eastern front which has been broiled in Civil War for 9 years. Oil/gas rich land? Not that average Ukrainian would benefit much from it.
There was no widespread all out war in Ukraine until February when Russia attacked southward towards Kiev, east from ghe Donbas and north into Kherson Oblast.
Ukraine is defending itself from a complete Russian takeover and recent successes have hurt Russia and opened the door for Ukraine to get much of their country back.
If you can’t understand why Ukraine defended themselves from Russian takeover what can I say.

Would you part with American territory? Its their home, I commend them for fighting for it not sure many people here in the West would do the same. That said the Donbas is home to a large portion of the Soviet era heavy industries, metal works, and coal production so its an economic prize for either Ukraine or Russia.

Who is claiming this? I don't even think the Putin lovers are saying this. Your home is being invaded so you defend it. No one is blaming the Ukranians writ large here, just certain individuals.

"Complete Russian takeover" is a myth. They couldn't even get rid of saboteurs in Kherson. It's pretty clear Russia doesn't have the manpower nor allies in West Ukraine or even Kharkov(which borders Russia) to control that territory.
So the fear mongering of "complete Russian takeover" is just that.
The full on war with no negotiations is going to set Ukraine back into Iraq post 2003 territory. It's already had quarter of its population flee, and the rest of the population is suffering from anxiety, cold, and conscription raids. College kids in Kiev are up for draft because Russia mobilized.
And it doesn't seem like the spiral of aggression is winding down. It's expanding. This missiles to Poland by Ukraine was a damn jarring wake up call.
Ukraine isn't worth WW3. It's just not. It's poor Eastern European country with a lot of internal issues that plagued them since before the communist collapse.

Particularly, he's especially wrong to think that Putin is BOTH (A) unreliable enough to nuke the west should we support Ukraine pushing Russia back out of the country AND (B) reliable enough to hold to a deal
And if you don't agree with him the only possible reason would be that you are a genocidal warmonger. Expect I'm not sure who we are genocidal towards and he said your a warmonger if you like money so I guess everyone is a warmonger by his definition but we are just genocidal somehow because we don't agree with him

In the incredibly unlikely event of this happening deal
FTR there are roughly 25000 LINK annual homicides in the US. There have been 62 murders by illegals in 2022 (which is also a huge increase from 2019) LINK. So I think I'd be more concerned with her being murdered by another American first.

Ukraine trying to keep commie territory given to them by Bolsheviks isn't worth destroying the country over. It certainly isn't worth West risking 3rd World War.
The Russian Federation, the curent Russian state, has decided to break with its own past policy. It has recognized Ukraine as a legitimate state multiple times in multiple international agreements in the past 30 years, and repeatedly promised to respect its territorial integrity, all far more recently than there were "Bolsheviks" and previous Russian governments.
You're pushing Kremlin line.

It's not a myth, because that is clearly what they tried to do. They wanted, at a minimum, to displace the Ukrainian government in charge and effectively make it a Russian puppet state. That they failed doesn't mean they somehow didn't try.

Yeah, I wonder whose fault this is.

This isn't the way things happen, as I'm sure you would say that nationalism in the Balkans wasn't worth WWI nor was Polish independence worth WWII. What you miss by being so granular is the bigger picture, and moreover, what the Russians themselves say about what they want. If I quote Dugin again, who I should absolutely trust over what appears to be some teenager who has teenage talking points lifted from some obscure imageboard noted for the wide variety of its anime body pillows, he makes it quite clear that what the Russians see is a cosmic battle, not unlike the one that entities like ISIS viewed things. The difference being, it is a battle about who dominates who. Given that viewpoint, Ukraine is but a theater. And Russian extraterritorial behavior since 2004 supports that assertion. It isn't the case that Russia is simply going to be satiated if they get territory.

I’ve thought about this for a while as we see updates on this strategy from them. I honestly think eventually, not tomorrow, it’ll happen as the inevitable unwinding of us and China happens.

I thankfully don't live my life with this fear in mind, nor would I ask for the prayers and pity from the likes of you. I'd way rather an immigrant, illegal or otherwise, replace you, to be honest.

There's a reason US doesn't give Ukraine long-range missiles. Because it's not that "unlikely" as we think.
Even the possibility of nuclear war was unfathomable 2 years ago. Now it's a normal daily topic on the news.
