A helpful article from Tampa Bay Times and Politifact detailing what would happen if Poland got hit by a stray missile: https://www.tampabay.com/news/florida-politics/2022/03/16/could-a-strike-by-russia-on-poland-trigger-article-5-and-bring-nato-into-war/
"If the attack is accidental, such as a stray missile landing over the border in Poland, NATO members would have to meet and decide if it was indeed a mistake,” Cross said. “No one wants to escalate into a broader war just because of human error, so deliberation within NATO is important"

So lets just say it was an accident. Good?

People need to chill out. Russia will claim accident, NATO will levy sanctions and provide additional air defense systems in response, and we’ll all go about our lives.

I think this is a likely scenario

Maybe Ukraine will finally get their ATACMS or better yet aircraft.
Interesting to see what the response will be. Markets will be down of course.

Whatever base was used for the missile strike should be shut down / no longer usable by Russia at a minimum.

For all we know this could have been Ukrainian air defense missiles that went astray. Who knows.

I mean it’s actually possible.
Just have to wait and see what comes out in the coming hours.

It really is mind boggling at how horribly ran their military is. Before this war, I thought Russia had a better military than this, but after a few weeks, we knew this wasn’t the mighty military power that everyone thought Russia was. They’re just like Iran. Only difference is the amount of soldiers they have and they have nuclear weapons. But they don’t seem to have a damn clue as to what they’re doing over there.

RT tweeting talking shite makes me think there’s a chance Russia actually did not do this.

Should be pretty quick depending on how big the blast was and remains of the missiles. The pictures online didn't look like a big crater.
ETA: Looking at Lviv on the map, Russia has zero business even targeting that city. A Russian missile would have to go a very very long way and I can see an error hitting Poland is more likely than a rocket from a defense system running the opposite direction into Poland.

The key thing is that there were supposedly two missiles. Were they both Russian? That's an attack. Or was one a stray Russian missile and the other was a Ukrainian missile trying to hit the Russian one? That's likely an accident.
We don't know this information right now, and it will determine everything about what happens next.

Holy shite
Fortunately, Article 5 is not an automatic thing. Poland has to invoke, which they probably wouldn't do because there is still reason to believe that this was accidental, and so there is no real reason (yet) to believe Russia is expanding the war to NATO.
On the other hand, there has to be a "you crossed a mother-fricking line, don't do it again" response from NATO immediately.
Edit: Would Defcon 2 until Russia shows some good faith concern for not "accidentally" bombing NATO soil be too much?

More than likely just more evidence of Ivan's ineptitude. But, pissing off the Poles, no matter how, is not a good idea for the Russkies. Not to mention their continuing crude missile attacks on Ukrainian civilian assets.
Kill any more school kids today, Vlad?
frick Russia.
