You could have ... of course it would have brought up USSR (of which Ukraine was a member) vs Russia. Not so good.

By political, economic and cultural power. US cultural hegemony is so vast that you have people in far off regions wearing jeans and making their own hip-hop music. Russia isn't in the same stratosphere.

And then I could have brought up Georgia and the Balkans. Although arguing that Russia is not the successor state of the USSR is frankly a new line of argument.

Russia has literally never invaded a member of NATO

Yeah and that's not a fricking coincidence. That's actually the whole point.

So American cultural power is dressing like a slob and listening to the worst music in the history of civilization.

I've been somewhat surprised we haven't seen more aggressiveness from the Ukrainian army.

I have been thinking the same, but I see today that the Russian collapse in Kherson has begun. They are not going to be able to execute a precise and orderly retreat -- your soldiers need actual training to do that!

Get the popcorn ready.

But it still describes an equilibrium between two parties. The entrance of a third party without nukes changes the equilibrium.

NEGATIVE!
There is no third equilibrator. The nuclear equation is not trilateral. It is not a 4, 5, or 6 way equation. There are but two players capable of destroying the entire planet. That is a FACT which seems to escape many warhawks here.

You could have.... Of course, had you been that silly, I'd have pointed out the EU found Georgia at fault for starting that conflict.

Sorry, tell that to Athens as Sparta overwhelmed it, or France as Hitler strolled through Paris.

Rybar on the recent attacks on the Ukrainian power grid

https://twitter.com/rybar_en/status/1582495004869943296

quote:

??????????Russian Armed Forces strikes on Ukraine's energy system on October 18, 2022 - Rybar analysis

Rybar's team continues its daily analysis of the consequences of systemic fire strikes on Ukraine's energy system.

??Confirmed strikes:
• Pridneprovska TPP - Generation in Dnipro was significantly reduced: the city of one million was left with just a trickle that can be transferred through the 330kV overhead line at the remaining substations. A wave of blackouts has hit the city.

The damage is limited. In the near future, the power plant will continue to operate, albeit with reduced generation capacity.

• Kyiv TPP-6 - the power transformer of the generator-transformer block was probably damaged.

Since there are only two of them at TPP-6, the damage caused to the central station is much more serious than in Dnipro.

Presumably, the 330/110 kV autotransformer was also destroyed.

• Zhytomyr 330 kV substation - the 330/110 kV autotransformer was damaged. Ability to transfer power to end users from the NPP on the 330kV network was reduced.

A protective mechanism kicked in, as a result of which the entire city of Zhytomyr lost power. Probably, tomorrow the substation will be restored, the load will be transferred to the remaining autotransformers, but it probably won't prevent rolling blackouts and restrictions.

??Probable strikes:

Kryvyi Rih and Ivano-Frankivsk were also hit today, but there is no reliable information about the targets of the strikes.

??To summarize the 9 days of strikes, we conclude that the stability of Ukraine's power system is falling, and even single strikes on power generation and distribution facilities are shutting down entire regions.

The east of the country constantly suffers from power outages even without direct impact on the power facilities located there.

The cumulative effect of the strikes is growing, and if they continue, the unified energy system of Ukraine will cease to exist.

I’m loving you showing your colors here. Quite literally arguing against American interests but trying to do it in such a way you can lie to yourself about it.

Microcosm of the Q crew.
