I was assured a few days back by a big time Putin baw that the majority of the equipment that we have sent wound up on the black market.
That means Ukraine is kicking arse without the high tech equipment we are sending?
That’s hard to believe.

If I havent made it clear enough I am pulling for neither

but i am ok with sending equipment so long as its older tech.
You guys keep buying it was old tech but that too is a lie. They actually stripped some new modern rifles from some of our guys to send over there.

2nd a weak russia is good for us and a defeat here sends huge message to china to sit the frick down
Russia was not the USSR of old and will never be that again with or without this war. Russia is a boogeyman that plays easy to rile up the voter base here in the USA as we saw in 2016 and 2020.
China is about to go through some really hard times. Their economy is about to crash hard and the real way for us to really hurt China is to send our manufacturing anywhere else. Until we do that, I don't want to hear how bad China is. We are basically sleeping with the enemy every day a cargo container from China pulls into port somewhere.

and you are wrong about not escalating beyond ukraine
No. I don't think I am. If he touches any other country then we truly get involved. Putin knows that and is smart enough not to poke too far into any NATO areas.

why do you ignore that this is a genocide? they have stated on telegram multiple times that if you do not join them they will kill every last ukraine
What do you want them to say? We are trying to take over your country but it's OK if you don't want to join us?

we should help them as we have a chance to bring down our 2nd biggest politcal foe.
Defending Ukraine is not going to bring down Russia. Sorry to burst your bubble.

This is a distortion of reality.
You may not like their reason, may disagree with it, but they certainly did not wake up and just invade.
It is thoughts like this that lead to mass destruction and a fundamental lack of understanding of ones own enemy.
ummm i am not the one with the fundamental lack of understanding.....most of the dumbasses on the Poliboard and even in this thread are stupid enough to think this is about nato when it is prolly the 20th fricking reason. or it is Russias way of stopping western pop culture like LGBT shite
this is foremost about historical sites and the birthplace of slavic culture
2nd this is about stopping EU influence in ukraine and surrounding countries. Russia wants to be the sphere of influence in that region and they do that with economics.
3rd this is 3rd invasion under putin off the top of my head
sorry but im not pulling for any country that randomly invades another sovereign country unless it has legit reasons. getting rid of Nazism as they claimed is not a fricking reason.

Correct. At least consider the entire history.

Have you also noticed that we are hearing a lot of Oh My Goodness Nuclear War is coming! We are headed for mass destruction!!! We are all going to die!!!!
Why weren't you hearing that back in June or July?

Are we going to prop up Ukraine enough to keep the war going on for years in hopes that it bankrupts Russia?
Reagan bankrupted them once, if Russia is dumb enough to fall for it again, what can I say?
The fact is Putin severely miscalculated. He should never have attacked Ukraine. He just needs to save face now, but how?
His operation has been exposed. The emperor has no real army.
Abd I know, yes he has nukes which is unfortunate.

Even though the "concern" was actually just pro-Russian concern trolls, when this issue was raised in the summer, Ukraine actually put a complex system in place to track every piece of donated equipment.

Putin has to play that card. He has nothing of substance left.

nexta
If there are any military personnel from the initial invasion in Feb still walking this Earth, I wonder what they think when they hear Putin's admission

Putin: "The line of contact with #Ukraine is 1.1 thousand kilometers, it is impossible to protect it only by those who serve in the army under contract, so we were forced to declare mobilization."

I think NATO being on his border plays a role in the decision. Not saying it is 100 percent the reason but no country would want a combined foreign military power that close to their borders.
Imagine if China and Russia asked Mexico to join their united defense alliance. Do you think America would sit back and let it happen?
The rest of the stuff people cite is silly. I agree with you there.

You said Russian invaded for no reason.
There was a reason. You start from a falsehood.
Nor is it "random".
Someone with this view is clearly wrong on everything else they "think".

i agree russia is a dying country with a shite economy and even worse demographics. but they still want to be the center of influence. bottomline line is a weak Russia is good for the USA, atleast currently

i agree too far, but what is too far? taken back the balkins? what about the new members....they were fair game before, what about poland....

while i agree, the sanctions, lasting effects domestically very very well could bring about regime change.
hopefully if it does, it allows a true democratic gov to be elected and the EU and USA dont make the same mistakes as last time and we actually bring them in to the world economy.
