Don't forget "fricking idiot" and "insane fricking idiot". He's a geopolitical savant. But the rest of us are just insane fricking idiots.
But remember: October is here and there will soon be riots in Europe. And our coffers are just about drained dry. And the west will soon begin to pull its support. And then Putin will really start trying. And the Russian army will roll across Ukraine like it was 1943 all over again.
And if you can't see that you're an insane fricking idiot.
Just wait for October.....

Then why are they turning the lights off?
Everyone with half a brain knows that there will be enough. Are you the dolt who invested in Gazprom and crowed about it? All the markets know, actually people who actually know things, not OML and other Politard types like Tucker and the anti oil far leftist Tulsi. People who bet on shortages lost money in the futures markets already as the prices have dropped by 20% since the end of August

They started this months ago as a conservation measure. They will have gas left over. This isn't even counting the large reserve of Ukraine natural gas storage not included in Europe's tally with all being more full than in at least 5 years.

And how long has that “usually” had nuclear weapons on the table?
The USSR replaced several leaders during the Cold War where we fought proxy wars with them all over the planet, were on their doorstep (division of Germany through Berlin), and had nukes pointed at them. Not to mention the constant espionage going on between the two of us. Does it have a risk for chaos? Yeah. History with this specific country says it’s much less than you make out.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 11 October 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
On 08 October 2022, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MOD) announced that General Sergei Surovikin had been appointed as overall commander of its Joint Group of Forces conducting the special military operation' in Ukraine. Surovikin has previously commanded the Russian Aerospace Forces and, more recently, the Southern Grouping of Forces on operations in Ukraine.
For much of its operation, Russia has likely lacked a single empowered field commander. General Alexandr Dvornikov likely held the role for a period between April and August 2022, but it is unclear whether he was able to effectively exercise control over the often disparate and competing groupings of forces.
Surovikin's appointment likely reflects an effort by the Russian national security community to improve the delivery of the operation. However, he will likely have to contest with an increasingly factional Russian MOD which is poorly resourced to achieve the political objectives it has been set in Ukraine.

Well, it's now just one week until my trip to Ukraine. Perfect timing, eh?

You’re going over there? In all seriousness, be safe and I hope you will report back to the thread on what you see and learn there.

The days of low-level day time B-52 missions in combat day 1 are done, but bludgeoning enemy air defenses early for some high altitude B-2 runs and a bit of E-18 growler support are still feasible this day and age.
Except that the Russians don’t have anything as good as the old Prowler let alone as good as the Growler. Plus the Ukrainians have shot down several Russian fighter jets with the Russians most advanced jamming and AEW pods and have captured the several ground based versions of the Russian EW and AEW equipment. I guarantee you that Ukrainian, American, and NATO experts examining them and coming up with ways to defeat them right now. Which is why Russian bombers are not entering Ukraine and only drones and fighter aircraft enter Ukraine.

I wonder how long the lights will be out in Lwow. Ukraine sells (sold) a lot of electricity to the EU so that’s obviously not going to be happening in the near future.

Looks like you're taking a break from trolling so I'll respond. They actually halted all electricity exports as of today from the first volley of missle strikes

The Ukrainian energy ministry said it will halt exports of electricity to the European Union following Russian missile strikes on energy infrastructure on Monday.
"Today's missile strikes, which hit the thermal generation and electrical substations, forced Ukraine to suspend electricity exports from Oct. 11, 2022 to stabilize its own energy system," the ministry said in a statement on its website.

July 2, 2022 - President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced yesterday that Ukraine has begun exporting electricity to the European Union using an interconnection with Romania, starting with 100 megawatts. As they increase in volume, power exports from Ukraine will diversify Europe’s energy supply in the midst of Russia’s aggression, support energy security throughout the region, strengthen their trade relations with Western allies, and provide a much-needed source of revenue to Ukraine’s embattled energy sector.

Doesn’t surprise me as I doubt they have the capacity to do so and won’t until damaged infrastructure has been repaired. I expect they will have help from western contractors to perform repairs. I imagine it will take awhile (at least a couple of weeks) to get necessary parts, etc. but I have no special knowledge.
