Under water explosion with upward force to lift the bridge span? But at the same time the Trane is passing? But no visible explosive damage to the passenger car section?

Very odd. Want to see more angles.

Once the shock of the loss of the rail bridge and at least one full direction of the road bridge sets in, then the real question that will send propaganda shocks all through the Ukraine, Crimea, and Russia will set in.

It is a real simple question that has very interesting implications.

If this is a timed explosion (which right now is an assumption), which way was the train traveling when it happened? If the train was traveling from Russia to the Crimea, that implies that the charges were set in Russia.

If the charges were set in Russia, there are all sorts of questions regarding the operation of Ukrainian special forces in Russia, the partisan activity happening in Russia proper, and the very basic how could Russia let this happen?

Out of context, it looks like storm damage where waves broke the span from the bearings and lifted it up and dropped it.

There is CCTV pointed directly at the first fallen span, I would love to see the footage.

From Russian State TV:

quote:

At about six o'clock in the morning, a fuel tank caught fire on the bridge, which was in the tail of a freight train. As a result, one of the spans of the automobile part of the bridge collapsed, traffic on it was completely blocked, road services and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working on the spot . The authorities are preparing to resume ferry service with the Krasnodar Territory.

quote:

“I ask everyone to use only official information. A lot of enemy fakes and stuffing have appeared,” Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to the head of Crimea, wrote on his Telegram channel.

ETA

quote:

On Saturday morning, a fuel tank caught fire at the tail end of a freight train. The locomotive with part of the cars was brought to the Kerch station. Emergency work is underway. According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, a truck was blown up on the automobile bridge, two spans of the bridge collapsed.

ETA their most recent update

quote:

The damage on the Crimean bridge is not serious and will be promptly restored, the head of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, promised.
Speaking about the alleged causes of the emergency fire, he blamed Ukraine for the incident.

"Ukrainian vandals still managed to reach out with their bloodied hands to the Crimean bridge. Now they have something to be proud of: for 23 years of their management, they have not managed to build anything worthy of attention in Crimea, but they managed to damage the canvas of the Russian bridge," Konstantinov wrote in his Telegram -channel.

Maybe underwater autonomous robot technology is better than we thought.

That's fine. If they're pushing that narrative it means they're not itching to escalate over this.

Does this look like the first explosion was on the lower or automobile part of the bridge?

Sure looks like it, and it looks like a vehicle blew up. Suicide bomber? That would be a new twist for this war.

If that footage is legit, the vehicle’s passage is probably coincidental. It would take a Timothy McVeigh-style Ryder truck ANFO bomb to bring down the bridge.

And even if it were that big, would it even trigger explosions on the train bridge?

I don't think it was a truck. If you look at the footage from the road there are two sets of a truck and a car on that span. The first truck and car are already on the uphill grade when the explosion hits and the second truck and car you see putting on their brake lights. The one truck coming in the opposite direction has its lights on after the explosion. I think the explosion came from below.

ETA made a gif

Daylight aftermath video in this link

??There are footage of the consequences of blowing up the Crimean bridge??

Asphalt and metal stupidly blown to shreds.

For some reason, I remembered that during the construction we were told that this bridge was made SO powerfully, that it would withstand even a nuclear strike ... And then just a fricking truck blew up.

I'm not an engineer but in the daylight aftermath video, the two spans that fell are separated by a span that didn't fall.

There are definitely two sections down that are not continuous. I'll make a gif from the video.

ETA watch until the end and you see the second unconnected span out.
