Single most consequential act of this war save for Russia moving the first piece of military hardware over the border.
I hope the calculus on this gambit is correct.
I've only been involved with industrial implosion, cat crackers and boilers
That multiple roadway sections below and train with tank cars on the rail span above are in flames sure seems like on the spot demo and not rocket, artillery or drone to me

Probably a US drone strike. Lol

Fair. Shouldn’t have called you a dumb frick given there’s nothing personal between us. My apology, but I do think me warning about October for months, my fears have now been validated over this action. But apologies to you specifically.

Edited in the thread as well in big bolded letters. Again, apologies.

Now that's bullshite. How could a tank explode so easily? It's just like that?? Or were the ukrams really given rockets that reach the bridge?
Flying debris could have sparked a fire but the odds of a missile or drone hitting the bridge at the same time a train is passing seems too coincidental to me. Also the whole section or roadway didn't shatter it moved off. I well remember a tank truck fire on an overpass in Houston, it took months to replace that one section or roadway warped by the heat of the fire.

Preliminary indication from Russia is they're going with the accident hypothesis

There’s no one dumb enough to believe that, especially given winter is here.

If u look I. The short clip of the bridge on fire u can see the section of the rail bridge is twisted.
It’s had to tell, but it doesn’t look tile the section of cad bridge was damage at the piles. It almost looks like the section was lifted up and was knocked off the piles.
Reminds me of the section of I-10 from Slidell to NO east that was lifted up by Katrina.
Could the tanker car exploded and the force of the shock wave lifter the section? That’s a lot of weight, so not sure it is even possible. But the car bridge doesn’t appear to have and visible “fire” damage….

Never under estimate the Russian Governments ability to lie to its people.
Remember according to the Russian government it was a cigarette that sunk the Moskova and blew up the Crimean airfield.

I mean, all this may be true, but this is throwing stones from glass houses after 2020.

Sorry, don't follow you on this one.
I was just pointing out that while you and I know they'd be lying about it, they are more than capable of doing just that to their population.

Welp the Rolex market will take another leg down. Maybe I can afford that Pepsi GMT now.

I can't wrap my head around the damage. The road span looks more like storm damage than explosive damage. None of the pictures I have seen show anything that looks like explosive damage. It is quite odd.

Undersea explosion/shockwave?

That was a thought but seems a high chance of failure.
I just don't see how Ukraine even got in their. This has the look of an 8 hour swim with rebreathers with very small very well-prepared charges like ribbon charges.
Maybe I will wake up tomorrow and someone will have a more reasonable explanation but the lack of visible damage has me flummoxed. Then again there are a lot of new toys in the world that I am unaware of.

Bolding added by me. From the Russian Z Telegram channel.

Watch for the Ukrainian attack on Melitopol to kick off now. With the bridge down, the only supply route to Kherson flows through Melitopol. If Ukraine takes that, then all of the Russian Troops in the southern part of the country are going to be hurting for supplies.

??A ferry service is being prepared for launch in Crimea.
All logistics schemes in case of emergency have been worked out, the adviser to the head of the peninsula said.
"Traffic through the Crimean bridge has been stopped until the circumstances are clarified, special services are working on the spot" - acting. Minister of Transport of Crimea Nikolay Lukashenko.
Crimea is also provided with a supply of fuel and food.
One thing worries me now - what will happen to the provision of boys at the front???
