In my mind Russia is getting their arse kicked and if you dream it you can do it.

Y’all are really triggering the Putin fan boys by suggesting Russia’s military has been a little underwhelming lol. Russia will take Ukraine unless a deal is made but it is clear Russia’s military is decades behind ours. Which most experts knew and have been saying for a while. At this point it appears in conventional warfare they are behind France and definitely Great Britain at this point

Supposedly Russian paratroopers over Kiev
No idea how legit

I’ve seen a lot of suspicion around that photo on Twitter.

Slightly suspicious of this image circulating, Lots of reports of heavy airstrikes/shelling then this report? Supposedly this plan has failed already, so why try now? Are we sure it’s not AA smoke?

My original thought is that if those are parachutes that they might be some sort of aerial resupply

The sounds of fighting have disappeared on the live Kyiv cam.

The problem is I don’t think China’s is. They’re always the looming threat in the background when talking about this issue.

If those guys have no ground support they are as good as dead when they hit the ground.

Damn! Every time I see someone say “it’s going off on the live cam”, I turn it on and radio silence!

Doesn’t seem like dropping paratroopers into major city would be wise in the first place to me, but have zero experience so

China’s absolutely is decades behind too and probably further behind than Russia’s. They have some new tech but not enough of it. The overwhelmingly majority of their equipment is old old. Hell if and when they invade Taiwan it is widely excepted they will have to use their merchant fleet. Read military experts not fear mongers. Now give China another 20-30 years and the gap could close significantly if we don’t invest properly and waste money on projects that just enrich certain people. Nukes are the equalizer which makes conventional power kinda 2nd fiddle anyway

I mean, they’ve got fricking space nukes, so I’m not completely confident about that. Granted we may have them too, but they’ve got a device that can nuke us that we can’t detect which seemingly takes mutually assured destruction off the table from a practical standpoint.

?Russian artillery fire has struck Kyiv's children's cancer hospital Okhmadyt, killing one child and wounding two, along with two adults, TSN reported. Eyewitnesses reported that the city is under fire from multiple-launch rocket systems.

This is a bit of an interesting note/realization:
@shashj (via a NYT article)
@Osinttechnical
The question is, why would they change that habit with this operation? Is it to not show the world their progress or struggles? Is it to protect themselves and to hide their actions in war? This goes against what Russia is known to do with their military operations.

"The [Russian defence] ministry, which typically releases sleek and copious footage daily of the Russian military in action, published no videos of its combat operations in Ukraine." LINK

To put this in context, Russia normally releases a lot of media, even at the state level.
In Syria, last year they even released a video of an Iskander hitting a hospital.
