Iraq had a far inferior military than Ukraine. Iraq’s terrain was purpose built for rapid movement by armored forces Iraq had zero Air Force at the onset of the war and basically zero anti-aircraft defenses.
Why was Iraqs military inferior than Ukraine’s? I’m by no means an expert but I don’t think that’s the case, if anything they’d be similar but I’d say on some fronts Iraq’s may have been superior. It looks like Iraq had about 650,000 soldiers? Ukraines in the 300-400,000 range?
Also, the US/ coalition was not starting on our own soil. We transported everything there, obviously, and worked from foreign bases.
Russia is operating from home turf and many of their jets are likely flying from airfields in Russia. A substantial difference.

I feel like these stories are just getting repeated over and over and over and over again.
Wasn't that from this morning? (I also see it again now on the latest feeds in a lot of places)

That said, I think part of it is generally people rooting for the underdog/victim and hoping for the best.
There are no respawns.
There are no match time limits.
This goes on until one side gives in.

Chechen leader now says they will not fight Ukraine LINK

Where’s the live cam? Anyone got a link?

Of course I agree with that
it will be interesting though to see what happens if Russia does take Ukraine. Obviously there’s a difference between winning and ruling/incorporating.

A Russian tank seems to have driven off a bridge. Was this a female driver?
Sorry.
Sorry.

The comments think it's a fake? There has been a lot of video of Chechyan in Ukraine fighting.
Lol, War in 2022. No one fricking knows a thing.

Yes they have developed a small number of advanced capabilities but overall their military tech is very outdated. Actually smart of them. They realize they won’t catch us in overall military strength with the way we spend and our huge lead so they pinpoint a couple of projects that can render everything else meaningless.

[The Guardian] The United Nations Security Council is due to vote on Sunday to call for a rare emergency special session of the UN General Assembly on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine
quote:
The vote by the 15-member council is procedural so none of the five permanent council members - Russia, China, France, Britain and the United States - can wield their vetoes. The move needs nine votes in favor and is likely to pass, diplomats said. The special session would be held on Monday, diplomats said.
Only 10 such emergency special sessions of the 193-member General Assembly have been convened since 1950.
The request for a session on Ukraine comes after Russia vetoed on Friday a draft UN Security Council resolution that would have deplored Moscow’s invasion. China, India and UAE abstained, while the remaining 11 members voted in favor.
The General Assembly is expected to vote on a similar resolution following several days of statements by countries in the emergency special session, diplomats said. General Assembly resolutions are non-binding but carry political weight.

I believe it is people rooting for the country being invaded for no real reason besides the ego of a tyrannical ruler. Doesn’t really have anything to do with rooting for underdogs, it is rooting for the people being victimized

It's not even comparable but don't let that discourage the excuse-making attempts for Russia by posters here.

I think you’re 90% right, but we have no idea what kind of weapons the American and Chinese military (I think we can rule out Russia at this point) are sitting on. For all we know they’ve developed an antimatter bomb… which buckle in if that weapon has been developed.

I wonder if that troop carrier that was shot down last night was full of them?

Report form a Kyiv news outlet that the Kyiv children's cancer hospital was hit. Be on the lookout for any verification of that.

I mean, they’ve got fricking space nukes

they’ve got a device that can nuke us that we can’t detect which seemingly takes mutually assured destruction off the table from a practical standpoint.
