Upset that Pootie Poot has had to stop to rest?
I get that makes you approve that Russia sent anti aircraft missile batteries WITH Russian personnel to operate them in North Vietnam

That's a George W Bush nickname. George W. Bush was the worst President in American history until Biden's vaccine mandates stole the honours.

Russia should stop starting them

And you're gonna somehow spin that into saying the Russians have been holding back?
I don’t think they’re holding back.
I believe they’re deploying as many of their contract forces (volunteers) as they can, while still allowing for dwell time.

Not one to bother with history are you?
Do you even Johnson, Harding, Buchanan, or Pierce?

As well as unpaid conscripts from the Donbas. That is going to sit well in areas they have occupied since 2014

Then like magic, China imports less oil from Russia since its trading subsidiary in Houston succeeded in its bid.
I see the upside of the sale to this entity. That being said, a ship's destination with crude oil owned by a trading company often changes while at sea as the cargo is sold to someone else.

The militia are natives. They’re from the Donbas.
You can tell from the prisoner exchange rosters, the men being returned were all from the Donbas.
That’s also why you see the happy reaction from the residents of Lisichansk. Most of the soldiers in the city are from the region.

Harding didn’t do much damage, the others really didn’t have much of a choice. Bush single handedly sent this country southwards.

I would pick, Lincoln, Wilson and FDR before I even thought about Bush.

That is the oddest combination of worst presidents I have ever seen. Whether historical or purely political I have never seen Lincoln at the bottom as he is universally near or at the top no matter what the bent of the list author.

ISW update

Key Takeaways
Russian forces continued to conduct limited offensive operations north of Slovyansk.
Russian forces continued attempting to advance toward Siversk from Lysychansk but did not make any confirmed territorial gains.
Russian forces launched assaults on Dementiivka to disrupt Ukrainian ground lines of communication (GLOCs) along the T2117 highway.
Russian forces continued to launch assaults on settlements along the Kherson-Mykolaiv and Kherson-Dnipropetrovsk Oblast border to regain lost positions.
Russian Federation Council approved a bill committing the Kremlin to paying veteran benefits to civilians involved in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Russian occupation authorities continued to set conditions for the annexation of Donbas and southern Ukraine.
quote:
Luhansk Oblast Administration Head Serhiy Haidai stated that Russian forces are not conducting an operational pause as of July 8 and are continuing to shell settlements and deploy additional tank units to Donbas.[1] Haidai’s statement likely reflects confusion about the meaning of the expression “operational pause” and how such a “pause” actually manifests on the ground in a war.
quote:
Russian milbloggers are continuing to show rhetorical opposition to the Kremlin by faulting the Russian Defense Ministry for making Russian logistics vulnerable to the Ukrainian strikes via US-provided HIMARS rocket systems

The 1,000 155mm rounds are the Excaliburs which Ukraine has been begging for since March. They are gps guided and can accurately hit anything within 20 miles so my guess is they use them on forward command and control posts and forward supply dumps as well as grouped armor. Doesn’t have the range of HIMARS but they are one fire, one hit and they are not cheap so 1,000 may seem like a little but these are for planned targets. I agree also that I believe they will send the ER-GMLRS and that should be more than significant. They don’t need the ATACMS those are for our military. They can blow a lot of things up with the ER’s 93 mile range. I would love to see what kind of impact just a dozen f-16 fighters would make with properly trained pilots operating them. You could teach a Ukrainian fighter pilot to fly one in a week if you needed to compared to say the f-18 which would be much more difficult. Putin would go ballistic.

Each one expands the federal state in a new and fundamental way.
I wouldn’t call Lincoln a good president for that reason, good is a moral judgement, but I would agree that he was very effective.

With Ukraine needing artillery and ammo to help even the artillery odds between the two armies I’ve often wondered why we, Britain and the rest of NATO don’t go into their reserves and send Ukraine a large shipment of older 105 mm howitzers and their ammunition? We were still using the 105 in 2000’s so it’s not like they are 50 years old obsolete. We used them in Vietnam so they have been around a while but the NATO countries all used the 105 and should have a good amount in storage. They aren’t as powerful as the 155 mm by any means but they can still be effective, especially against infantry positions lightly armored equipment. Just a thought. We have no use for them anymore and they can very much use anything they can get their hands on.
