I am usually pretty good at devining the meaning of obtuse and arcane phrases but WTF are you talking about.

Ukranians are in a blackout and Russian men 18-35ish are jumping out of an IL-76. Time for me to go rank up on CSGO unopposed.

I think there are way too many variables to compare this to Iraq.

I keep waiting for a Russian column to pull into view on the feed chased by Ukranian Karens lobbing Molotovs but alas, nothing

FACT: When the CIA was kicked out of Afghanistan, they lost their ability to fund the Ukrainian government through their heroin franchise. Putin is just kicking Soros's illegitimate Ukrainian government in the teeth.
I get it, the country would be better off right now if former President Trump was still currently President Trump, but he’s not. Anyone that’s paid just a little attention over the last 10 years knows some shady shite happened in Ukraine over the last decade but I highly doubt any government official of Ukraine signed up for what’s currently happening.

It’s a bit odd, with it being a “all out invasion” I’m not really impressed with the way Russia is going about this. We are constantly told how great they are, and a SUPER power. Either they underestimated the Ukrainians, or Russia ain’t shite!

FWIW using a VPN connected through Kyiv still gives a 150mbps result. Same as last night. Not sure about upload speed...not going to use valuable u/l bandwidth to check.

I agree, almost as if Russia is holding back.

Another scenario where multiple things can be simultaneously true.
Ukraine is a really big place-- geographically, the largest European country. Much of it is open flat land, that's difficult to establish and retain control of, so progress and territorial occupation can be fluid-- but when the fields of conflict are narrowed down, it gets messy in a hurry.
Likewise, Putin and company seem to be pursuing a 'rapid conquest' strategy aimed at decapitation, consistent with the reports of US Intellegence, rather than the slow press forward from prepositioning of forces, but leapfrogging to seize stragetic locations like airports for rapid re-enforcement and encirclement of Kyiv. So far they're keeping the cruise missles and other air attacks to try to suppress air defense, command and control, and not to carpet bomb civilian populations-- they are well aware of the optics of the war on the internet.
They did underestimate the Ukrainians, it seems. The defenders seem to be putting advanced Western weapons to pretty decent use as they fight Russian numbers. That said, there isn't a clear second 'Super Power' yet-- Russia merely has a lot of stockpiled arms, a willingness to use its military, and a very experienced core of units-- but it doesn't mean much if they are badly led, not used properly for political reasons, or if they're exposed to risks that wouldn't be acceptable in Western militaries and get hosed in the process.

We keep hearing reports about the seemingly low morale among the Russians. Like they’re just not really that eager to keep pushing.
Of course, that could just be Ukrainian propaganda, but between what appears to be very slow gains into Ukraine, reports of planes/choppers getting shot down left and right, and how a relatively large sect of Russian people back home are against this war, I can’t imagine too many Russian soldiers are actually gung ho about destroying a neighboring country that they were friendly with for most of their lives.
But Russians are weird, so who knows.
