France,Germany and Italy are the ones that are calling for/pressuring Ukraine to give up territory for peace. Those three would sell their own mother out for their own selfish interests. You cannot trust them! They are the ones leading the Russian appeasement/let's settle this Ukraine thing at any cost.

Let’s call this the Neville Chamberlain plan.

Yea, what kind of idiots would ever elect an actor as President when you can get a career politician like Joe Biden?

Of total promised, that would mean multiple packages. Biden sent just enough for show.

Who said that he had friends in the administration?

Palmetto probably hates Reagan as well since he hated Russia too.

The only bridge partially usable was all but blown weeks ago from shelling. It's not like trucks were able to go to and fro at will

The river is nowhere near high, it is fordable but not by heavy equipment. I don't think that heavy equipment is on the flat land side.

Trump's term did not hold a candle to either of Reagan's. The next president has the chance to come close if savvy enough and the will is there. People don't realize how bad it was under Carter.

Well they are historically the most direct at risk for the continuation of this behavior, at least Germany, in comparison to us and the UK doing all the heavy lifting in the west. Poland gets it and is doing pretty much the most relative to their size.

I’ve said this before, and will repeat, we helped the Soviet Union fight Hitler because we believed Hitler was the worst of the evils and it was of benefit to us. Same thing, smaller/earlier scale.

Yes, one of our greatest presidents was an actor.

I remember it well, it sucked arse. Biden may not exactly be repeating the Carter presidency but he sure does rhyme. The only thing that Biden has gotten right is Ukraine.

British Defence

Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE
14 June 2022
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
• Russia's operational main effort remains the assault against the Sieverodonetsk pocket in the Donbas and its
Western Group of forces have likely made small advances in the Kharkiv sector for the first time in several weeks.

On 10 June, the First Deputy Chairman of Russia's Military Industrial Commission predicted that state defence spending will increase by 600-700 billion roubles (GBP 8.5 -10 billion), which could approach a 20% increase in Russia's defence budget.

Russian government funding is allowing the country's defence industrial base to be slowly mobilised to meet demands placed on it by the war in Ukraine. However, the industry could struggle to meet many of these requirements, partially due to the effects of sanctions and lack of expertise. Russia's production of high-quality optics and advanced electronics likely remain troubled and could undermine its efforts to replace equipment lost in Ukraine.

I didn’t realize all this time Palmetto was prog filth. It shouldn’t be too surprising since the pro Russia brigade’s arguments basically mirror those of the Chomsky’s of the world. Soon they’ll be whining about equity and inclusion.

55 mph speed limit
Thermostats in 78 in Sumner, sweaters indoors in the Winter
Gas lines
Olympic boycott
Russia laughing at us

We haven’t gone that far yet, but it’s early.

Reagan's skills of communication, developed through acting and public speaking, were arguably his most important tools as president. He wasn't a political policy wonk, but he could explain policies in a comforting and easy to understand manner.

Ukraine's actor-president very quickly expressed the need to defend Ukraine from being swallowed up by Russia. Every Ukrainian knew what that meant, having lived under Russian domination for years. But to have a young, charismatic leader stand up in the face of the very personal threat and rally the county to resist was vital. Skill as an actor certainly helped in that situation.

Stories from the Front (1): Q & A with Ukrainian Volunteer Soldier

Kyiv Post

I really liked this quote...

Sydorenko] What motivates you to keep fighting – apart from your belief in Ukrainian victory?

[Krupsky] For a start, I have come to understand that the enemy is a bunch of thieves.
