Me not mindlessly rooting for a WEF controlled neoliberal Ukraine that will be used as a home base to "Westernize" all of the traditional non-woke Christian Central and Eastern European countries like Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia = me wanting to move to Russia? 
Russia claiming a buffer zone is in most everyone's best interest at this point. The only people who "lose" are a couple million innocent Ukrainians (they've already lost - that's a sunk cost at this point) and the Globalist financiers and politicians who would miss out on increased power and eventual dominance over the few remaining traditional countries to the south / west of Ukraine.
Russia claiming a buffer zone is in most everyone's best interest at this point. There is nothing Russia wants that is good for the rest of the world. Outside of the CCP Putin is the greatest threat to the world and there isn’t a close 3rd

No country is going to invade Russia. Western democracies want to live in freedom without threat from Russia. But between the Russian's ears is this desire to protect themselves with buffers that are constituted by other countries. They live in a constant paranoid state.

My roommate is pissed because he got a promotion to major and transferred to command a newly formed tank company made up of mostly green reservists and hurriedly modernized T72s in a completely different brigade. Apparently the T72 even after it is modernized is not as good a modernized T64. I told him if he did not want to get promoted to command a bunch of green reservists then he should not have killed so many Russian tanks.

Except for the citizens of the countries who would be in that buffer zone. The Ukrainians hate the Russians at this point so a "buffer zone" would result in nothing but lots of dead Russians and dead Ukrainins in a decades long insurgency and eventually lead to Russia deciding to use nukes against Ukraine which would set a bad precedent for other nations to look to.

Why don't they carve out a buffer in their own damn country then? Oh yeah, because this really isn't about buffer zones or ethnicity it is about oil and water. Explain how Russia becoming a larger petrostate is in the interest of the US. Explain how Russia retaking Crimea and the warm water port of Sevastopol was in the US's interest. You can't because it isn't.

Russia was never interested in NATO and any buffer zone until the US proposed putting missile defense systems in Poland against potential Iranian ballistic missile attack.

There is a remarkable difference between people who support a majority of Trump's policies and those who are a member of his cult of personality. The latter think of him as a true GEOTUS and would bow and scrape in his presence.
