You're nuts if you think that will happen. I think the most we'll do is maybe enforce a no-fly zone over the major cities and non-seperatist areas.
Yeah, like 78% of the country is against going to war with Russia over Ukraine. It’s not going to happen unless they get ballsy and invade a NATO country.

The Chinese hate Japan and would love to turn that nation into glass if they could get away with it, but you’re wrong. The prize they’re after is Taiwan. I had Chinese friends that fricking hated the CCP, and even they were adamant that Taiwan was a province and not a country. They don’t want to destroy Taiwan, they think they just rightfully own it.
People think this is complex. It’s really really simple. We manufacture our own semiconductors and chips and Taiwan becomes irrelevant. And yes I know it takes years to establish a plant, that’s not an excuse for not starting now.
Why get so bent out of shape over an island. Yea I want to see democracies succeed but we aren’t in a position to save those people, sorry.

I have a funny story about getting shite-faced in Hong Kong and standing-up in a speed boat to Macau and singing the national anthem while passing a U.S. Naval vessel in the Taiwan Strait.

Taiwan is in the middle of the world’s busiest trade route. If they take Taiwan they’ll next take the Philippines. There is a domino effect starting with Taiwan that China will use to dominate the world largely through trade and our hearts and minds. Taiwan is still important outside of its chips.

This is why the propaganda is so heavy. The State Department knows that most Americans are gullible sheep who will follow the herd.
If enough people virtue signal on social media about standing with Ukraine, then they will be able to flip that 78% figure into a majority or at least a plurality.

Which would trigger Article 5. Saying just because it's not in Europe so it's not under Article 5 is like saying because it's in Eastern Europe it doesn't matter to the US. Or is it limited only to Europe?
Everything the State Department is doing right now is trying to get Article 5 triggered.

The CURRENT trade route. There is no reason it has to be the major trade route going forward.
IMO we need to be heavily incentivizing manufacturing to move to Mexico and South America. The trade routes are shorter. There is still cheap labor. And finally if you make those nations prosperous it solves our southern border problem. We don’t have a problem with illegal immigration from Canada because the standards of living are mostly comparable.
I know you are going to say that’s an impossible task, but I would argue long term peace with China is an impossible task.
We are just too comfortable to stomach the pain that will happen from decoupling from China. We will keep trucking along until they eventually overtake us and it’s too late.

We are not going to risk air to air combat with Russian fighters over a hot zone and lead to WWIII.

That clown along with Kristi Noem are on Twitter right now demanding war.
Sorry, I'm old enough to remember the last time we were told by CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, White House, IC, Democrats, Republicans, Hollywood and every pundit that we had a "Responsibility to Protect."

And where do you propose they go? There’s Taiwan right there, and as I said the Philippines would be next. After that they’d start threatening the northern coast of Australia. So go all the way down to Southern Australia?

Actually we have a similar idea here. I’ve proposed we expand the Monroe Doctrine and force all American owned companies to make their products in the Western Hemisphere (give them an 8 year window to do so). That would save a lot of our woes.

Lot of merit to this, but our govt is largely in China’s pocket. We should bring back high tech manufacturing like semiconductors, bring pharmaceuticals back. Help Mexico and Central America with the rest. We’d make a lot of headway domestically if we’d de-unionize.

Yeah, frick these warmongers. Almost no matter what goes down, we can not start WWIII over Ukraine.

It's going to happen, man
Everything makes sense when you view everything happening through the lens of the US trying to trigger Article 5.

It's staying towards the top of the first page pretty good without a sticky.
The thing I find weird is that the subject line hasn't been updated since "Putin announces military operations in Ukraine"
