Lyman Frontline- Russians are attacking from multiple directions under the cover of heavy artillery coming from Stavky. Its unclear how far they have gone into the town, heavy fighting ensues.

Russians have established some kind of hold In the north part of the town of Lyman, there was reports of "checking documents" but I doubt that is true. Its unclear what Ukrainian forces are doing but I assume they will withdraw across the river in the coming days.

He’s part of the “tacitly supporting the Russians by only reporting on negative news about the Ukrainians to own the libs” contingent.
Mostly they’re people that question everything that “they” say without having the intellectual wherewithal to understand the fact that they’ve fallen completely for a different party line that shall not be questioned.

In regards to the bridgheads the Ukrainians established to the east of Kharkiv over the Donets
The Russians are counter attacking just north of there

1. They supposedly withdrew back to Mother Russia to allow units to be redeployed to the Donbas. There have been reports of units on the Popasna axis of advance last week that were previously in the Kharkiv area before the withdraw. Does anyone know if the Russians have enough forces to make a major attack there?
2. Has anybody else noticed that there are 2 villages in the Kharkiv oblast that are named Ternova?

ZeroHedge - Tyler Durden

Hybrid War is being fought predominantly in the economic/financial battleground – and the pain dial for the collective West will only go up…
The ironclad fictional “narrative” imposed all across NATOstan is that Ukraine is “winning”.
we can also expect full exposure – on overdrive – of the Pentagon bioweapons racket
Moscow is fully aware that going public with illegal work on banned biological weapons is an existential threat to the US Deep State. Especially when documents seized by the Russians show that Big Pharma – via Pfizer, Moderna, Merck and Gilead – was involved in several “experiments”. Fully exposing the whole maze, from the start, was one of Putin’s stated objectives.
Counteracting financial Shock’n Awe
By now it’s evidently clear that open-ended Operation Z targets unipolar Hegemon power, the infinite expansion of vassalized NATO, and the world’s financial architecture – an intertwined combo that largely transcends the Ukraine battleground.
Serial Western sanctions package hysteria ended up triggering Russia’s so far quite successful counter-financial moves. Hybrid War is being fought predominantly in the economic/financial battleground – and the pain dial for the collective West will only go up: inflation, higher commodity prices, breakdown of supply chains, exploding cost of living, impoverishment of the middle classes, and unfortunately for great swathes of the Global South, outright poverty and starvation.
None of the above should overshadow the still to be measured interconnected repercussions of the mass surrender of Azov neo-Nazis at UkroNazistan Central in Azovstal.
The mythical Western “narrative” about freedom-fighting heroes imposed since February by NATOstan media collapsed with a single blow.
… Russias r a Special Military Operation focused on precision strikes and a deliberate emphasis on sparing civilian lives and infrastructure while methodically disabling the Ukrainian military/logistics spectrum. All of that takes time. Yet Russia may have all the time in the world, as we all keep listening to the sound of the collective West spiraling down.

The only thing I've seen is from a Russian biased source. Not saying he's wrong, but until I see it from several other sources I wouldn't bet on it.

My previous post from a non-russian biased source said only the area north of that small lake was taken.

Reports coming in the Russians seized the town of Liman in a rapid assault today, with up to 500 members of the garrison surrendering. They apparently now hold at least the portion of town north of the railroad, which is most of the town.

Chromdome are you hearing anything about mass surrender in Lyman?
While I'm not Chromedome, this is what I'm seeing from Pro-Russia on Twitter
quote:
Unconfirmed reports of a massive surrender by Ukrainian forces in Lyman - big if true
quote:
Surrender still unconfirmed, may not be real, but AFU appears to be taking heavy losses & retreating from large parts of the city, train station reportedly already under Russian control
quote:
War reporter Kots says that Russians are controlling "most of the city" - situation is dynamic & unclear, I doubt we will know for sure until morning
LINK
1 note though is that Russia over reports their successes so "most of the city" might just mean they are in the city (they have claimed to control a city when they just reach the outskirts for reference).
NSFW (dead UKA)
Video apparently showing Russians soldiers in the city

You’re taking our propaganda at face value. Ukraine is losing, and will inevitably lose the war. But that’s also what you should expect. Russia has a massive resource advantage.

I read something recently, no idea where, that all the bridges have been down for some period of time.

Lima,
What is your definition of Ukraine losing? If the war were to end with Russia taking the Donbas and keeping the southern shoreline (with the exception of Odesa) would that be a win or a loss for Ukraine?
If Russia were to pull back to the pre-February borders (including in the south) would that be a win or loss for Ukraine?

The war is the end result of western expansionism, via NATO.
The Russians warned us that they’re would respond, they saw NATO expansion as an existential threat, and now they’ve responded.
A Russian victory is preferable, because it will stop western expansionism. Expansionism is dangerous and undesirable because it risks nuclear conflict, and the end of of all of us. It also has no benefit. It feeds nothing but the ego and vanity of the stupid people who lead us.
A Western victory, a best case scenario, from our leaderships perspective, would be the breakup of the Russian Federation. Assuming this was done, and we avoided nuclear war. It would be an incredibly stupid move, the ensuing civil conflict and chaos would kill millions, and the conflict would inevitable draw Europe in. That’s a waste of our blood and treasure.
Peace, the status quo antebellum. This are all vastly better scenarios. They are more profitable for us.

Yes, because you’re drinking Pollyanna, and if we’re going to have a reasonable conversation, we have to talk about the war that’s actually happening. And it’s a war that isn’t going well for Ukraine.

I hope the report is wrong. Are there any intact bridges remaining if they wanted to fall back?
Not unless they have repaired the bridges or put up some pontoon bridges. The pro-Russian people on Twitter are saying that the town is taken and they 500 Ukrainians have surrendered. Given how this is the 3rd time pro-Russian people on Twitter have said that the town was taken this month, I'm a little skeptical of their claims.

Fires are present throughout Lyman, Donetsk oblast in satellite imagery from today.
However, based on the images it loos like there is some heavy arse fighting going on and maybe as many 5 Ukrainian soldiers have actually surrendered today.

Two dozen countries announce new military assistance to Ukraine – Pentagon chief
Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin said that 20 countries have decided to send additional military assistance to Kyiv.
"About 20 countries have announced new security assistance packages. Many countries are donating critically needed artillery ammunition (...), tanks and other armored vehicles," Austin said at a press conference on Monday following a meeting of the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group.
He said that other countries have taken on new commitments to train the Ukrainian military.
Austin thanked the Czech Republic for its significant support, including the recent transfer of combat helicopters, tanks and missile systems.
In addition, the chief of the Pentagon announced Denmark's decision to send Ukraine a Harpoon anti-ship missile launcher and ammunition.
In addition, the Pentagon chief welcomed the contribution of Italy, Greece, Norway and Poland to the supply of Ukraine with artillery. Separately, Austin noted the role of Britain in coordinating the transfer of military assistance to Ukraine.
