asking the mayor some questions about how much this has cost the city and some other questions he couldn't answer.

If Lee comes down, I will officially boycott New Orleans for good

Eh.
There are two fire unions in the city. The black union and the regular one. The black one has more power and trust me, they are fine with this.

And have to deal with being called racists in the media and online?
Everyone, and I do mean everyone, with the means to stand up to Mitch are scared to death of the reprecussions of doing so.
The left has become the party of bullies at every level.

I know him too. He used to live next door to one of my rental properties.

can someone please explain to me why everyone is so upset about the fact that a monument for a hero of a failed secession from the united states that probably wouldn't have been allowed to be erected in other world political context is being taken down?

Like someone else said awhile back. I hope Mitch gets dick and throat cancer. I don't know how this man can sleep with himself. I hope his mother writes him out of her will. He deserves to live in this shite he created.

i don't have white guilt. the south lost. to the victor goes the spoils. don't see a lot of war monuments to losing parties anywhere else in the world. why should this be different?

They're not touching that one. That would be a whole different level of shite raining down.
Lee is pretty much on the same level.
It is close, but not quite. I'm referring more to the fact that there is a much more legit reason for Jackson to have a monument in New Orleans. Not only was Jackson a former President of the United States, but he was called the "Savior of New Orleans" for driving the British out before he became president.
Although I think the Lee statue is awesome and never bothered anyone I ever knew or met before all of this BS, he didn't really have much of a connection to New Orleans. Without Jackson, New Orleans could have had a completely different existence.
