Thank you Governor. We are so much safer as a result of your resolute and zealous leadership. This veto alone will launch Louisiana forward into greatness. You are a true humanitarian and guardian of law and order!

I'm very disappointed in his tenure so far. Really thought we'd be getting lower taxes, insurance reform, etc.

Instead we ended up with just another a-hole.

If he passes the bill then people can get out of jail quicker and his boys won't make as much money in this for profit prison system that's fricking the whole state up.

frick you jeff.

He’s not interested in hard legislative fights that could be used against him later; he’s looking to score easy political points so he can become the next DeSantis, but without the liability of bucking Trump. I’m hoping he’s only Jindal levels of bad, but I’m genuinely concerned it’s going to be worse.

I don’t believe the general public can “handle” weed

What do you mean by handle weed? As far as minors go, since when did they become concerned with laws telling them they must be 21 to drink or smoke tobacco/weed? This all comes down to keeping it medical, even though I’d wager the tax revenue would be a lot more with legalization. And let’s not forget about the jails and prisons, Louisiana can’t have empty cells. Get a medical card from a doctor that’s appointed by the state, who doesn’t give a shite and it’s fine. Lots of places around Louisiana that aren’t NO or BR and getting caught with weed is a ticket straight to jail. It’s all about money and crooked politicians in Louisiana so the money must make sense for those people to lock people up for a plant.

I mean. I get it Bidens awful. But we have to be able to have some nuance that backing off on punishments being busted for weed isn’t the same as letting repeat gangbangers or whatever out repeatedly.

From the outside looking in Landry has been a massive disappointment so far.

It’s been ages, but I vaguely remember him being a pretty solid, albeit run of the mill, fiscal conservative. Which at that time was a breath of fresh air. Then shite went off the rails.

Weird, I believe you would be completely and utterly shocked at who partakes on a regular basis.

Yeah, so throwing them in jail and costing them legal and court fees over petty possession is sure to help their financial situations!

Jeff Landry is a complete frick up retard, but this statement alone is objectively hilarious. the LA prison system has close to 0% impact on why Louisiana sucks, unless your argument is that the state needs to drastically increase prison capacity

but based on your posting history I’m going to assume you think this state has too many people locked up when the reality is the complete opposite. like as far away from reality as possible

10’s of 1000’s aren’t leaving Louisiana because it locks too many people up

People aren’t getting jail time over a few grams in the car. People who go to jail for weed are selling it or have records

I don’t give a frick about multiple felons going to jail over weed. Those people are obviously not compatible with society if they can’t give up weed when they’re on probation and/or have felony records
