I'm going to assume the elevation of the homes is higher than the new roadway, so tearing out the existing yards and driveways and filling the area and then rebuilding the yards and driveways.
BR will have a loop before this gets completed

So they fricked up and built the road ~20" too high, so now there going to fix it by raising everything around the road 20"?

This is hilarious. There was a shite load of IDGAF during construction too.

a. that's going to be a pretty massive slope and may cause flooding
b. how the frick does she get in/out of her driveway for the 2 years it will take to do that?
c. How does a licensed engineer not notice this is a gigantic frick up?

This is funny, but I've not had access to my driveway before when repaving was happening. If you don't want the shitty Lakeview streets, occasionally you will be inconvenienced while they're being fixed.

How does that even happen....

Sadly not surprising
The level of incompetence in that city is pretty impressive

I was about to email my councilman about a storm drain ramp for my driveway. I guess I'm going to have to wait until this gets fixed in five years.

If you're waiting on SWB it'll be longer than that

Meh, not that bad. About a 10-12% slope for a very short distance. I've seen worse in the mountains.

may cause flooding
It probably will. There will be sanding water at the curb of the road unless they put a drain in at the location.

This is a problem.

Easy fix. Just slope the driveway up to the road across the utility right of way.

You and me both. I think I'd rather have the potholes over this clusterfrick.

Spring Branch in Houston rebuilt their roads a foot lower than the houses south storm drains.
Why the frick did they build a road higher than the lots?

Likely not stamped drawings. Probably ad hoc "minor" construction by the city.

if the slope is as steep as it looks to be, she'll have ground clearance issues with cars too. Looks like the sidewalk needs to be raised too.
This looks like a pretty clear frick up by someone.

The new street signs after the city rebuilt Louisiana avenue will always be my favorite NOLA frick up. How many people did these get by unnoticed to the point of being put in the ground?

That was all because of "Callin' Baton Rouge"
