Kind, caring, loving, and tolerant.

Those are values liberalism has always stood for, and are on display here.

Not to mention Trump deciding on Fed assistance due to disasters based on how the people there voted. 'Member when he didn't send a fricking dime to CA to help with the wild fires because "they aren't my people"? I do.

That said, these are keyboard warriors. What kind of person takes time out of their day to reply to an OpEd, a reply that the writer will never read? They're idiots.

Most of us agree that social media is awful, so don't let strangers hiding behind anonymity to color your reality.

Yes, Trump sent fire aid to California. You are the most gullible soy here.

No.

What I remember was Trump stating that California needs to start managing all of the leaves, debris, and dead trees because its going to be a problem when fires break out.

Well nothing happened regarding that because well Trump is a meanie and always wrong.

California burns all to hell with wildfires that they cant control.

Well after the fact buried underneath all the other news stories shitting on Trump, California quietly admits they should have had much better upkeep of their forests and it could have prevented much of what happened.

Thats actually what happened

The comments about claiming to want less government only to beg for federal government help are correct though. Which is it?

No, they are not correct. Crimminy, this is elemental, so let me explain.

It is not hypocrisy when one is in favor of strictures yet does not self-impose those strictures in the absence of them becoming law.

Examples:

If I want a four way stop installed in my neighborhood, but I can't get it approved, I don't need to stop at that intersection to avoid hypocrisy charges.

If Bernie Sanders wants higher taxes that do not get approved he does not have to self-assess those taxes on himself and donate to the government in order to avoid hypocrisy charges.

If Trump is aginst widespread immigration he can still use immigrant labor to do landscaping at his hotel without being guilty of hypocrisy.

To be fair, if they get fair market value for their houses, that doesn't leave them being able to afford much. The argument for many is they'd have to have a mortgage or rent when they currently live in a paid off house.

i understand that, but they could move to the outskirts like Iowa or parts of sulphur and have more and nicer. Hell move to North LC around WM is way nicer.

that is literally the worst neighborhood from baton rouge to shreveport. place is an absolute shithole.

Makes Goosport look like greywood.

Don't reciprocate hate with hate. Lake charles residents didn't create the hurricanes or floods just like Californians didn't create the heat wave. Both couldve been better prepared

My comments were less critical of individual Californians suffering, and more geared toward the CA government that has decided for decades to ignore forest management best practices which has directly resulted in rampant wild fires.

You realize that happens for the same reasons the south freaks out when there is an inch of snow right?

No one freaks out over snow. It’s the ice storms.
Even the Yankees struggle with ice.
Also, the record low temps that not even the northeast normally see will cause major issues.

Here are my thoughts- Love and extend compassion forward each day to your brothers and sisters. And PRAY those who don't do this, never get what you feel they may deserve.

Because what is hate other than ignorance and suffering? These people are suffering in ignorance. They have no idea what they don't know. I pity them.

This is why I root for earthquakes and the northeast to get slammed by hurricanes like sandy. I remember the hate when Katrina hit from west coast and eastern seaboard people I worked with.

Better prepared for a basically category five hurricane? Better prepared for 20 inches of rain in a few hours? That’s not how shite works.

Goddamn there’s some stupid people on this site.
