Who assembled the EA? Received a FONSI or had to go to EIS?

Firm I work for assembled the EA for LADOTD (not gonna name 'em).

Received the FONSI in December 2012. Very little in the way of impacts, and relocations were kept to a minimum. Most relocations were trailers.

The Preferred Alignment paralleled a CLECO power line easement for a lot of the route. We were all set to run concurrently with the easement, and have the power lines/poles in the median, then CLECO decide to build a 2nd set of lines parallel to the original, which screwed that up.

Please tell me where and what toll roads you travel on in Texas that charge you $4-$5.00 a pop when you pass through a toll booth. I have tags for the toll roads in Texas for when I travel there and I’ve never been charged $4-$5.00 a pop / per toll booth.

Your comprehension skills are that of a ham sandwich, you dumbass.

Nobody will pay that crap.

If Hwy 90 from I-10 to New Orleans (I-49 South) is ever completely Interstate grade, I believe a lot of people would pay a few bucks to get to NOLA without crossing the basin bridge and going thru Baton Rouge.

Wow. Option 1 goes through our property and my sis-in-law. Option 2 takes, which I cannot see happening, takes out my mom's house. There's way too much development for option 2. There's retail and a high school. I'll probably be at the meeting.

Since you resort to calling people names I guarantee you don’t know what you are talking about. Intelligent people don’t discuss that way.

You have to compare apples to apples. What is the price per mile? Not per “pop”. If it is $4 -$5 to get on this loop then that is reasonable. But it needs to be put in comparable terms. What is the price per mile?

When I ride in Texas I regularly pay $4 to ride on a tollway in total. Both Dallas and Houston.

.

It’s like fifty cents to a dollar to ride Sam Houston tollway. Maybe more if you take the Grand Pkwy. If you’re seeing a $50 charge for the HCTRA, it’s cause there charging your credit card a flat fee.

TEXAS toll roads are awesome. La. Only wishes they could build and administer such a system. Instead we get “I49”- with 50 traffic lights from Willow Street to New IBERIA. Quite an expressway

It is around 20 cents per mile in Texas. That is what you would need to compare it to.

Destin Toll Bridge is $4

m not sure I'll be alive to see them finish Verot. They have started repairing it and it hasn't even been finished.
I was laughing my arse off (while also crying) that these idiots are repairing all the drains already and it isnt even open yet. Seriously what a cluster frick our local/state government is in regard to infrastructure projects.

They started the Kaliste Saloom to E Broussard widening 6 years ago and they still have a few years to go. It is 2 MILES that had to be widened by 3 lanes total. When they started this I had recently moved from Houston and I figured it take 2 or 3 months to do this.

The problem in Lafayette is red lights.

Why is there no synchronized route from the south side to I-10, and vice versa?

If you get lucky and "run the gamut" it really only takes about 10 minutes to traverse the entire city. But, nooooo, they intentionally time the lights to stop you at every major intersection, and even some crappy side streets.

Makes no sense. I've always wanted to kick whoever timed the lights in Lafayette right in the nuts. Twice. Maybe three times for good measure on low-traffic weekends.

The train tracks that run parallel to 90 also frick with the lights at KS, Verot, and Southpark. Always love when what little sync exists is catawumpus cause the train is passing.
49 isn’t the shite show Johnson and Amb Caffery are tho. Talk about make you not want to meet for drinks after work.

Why would the Lafayette Metropolitan Expressway Commission build Baton Rouge a loop?

LOL what? Lafayette isn't a city... it's just a cluster of fricking suburbs with an interstate that runs through the northern ghetto.

You’re the one who said “BR needs a loop way more than Lafayette does. Wtf? Who is approving funds for this?”.

I just want to know why you think Lafayette’s commission should fund Baton Rouge’s loop.

But where is the money coming from? I'm assuming the feds or state will be subsidizing some if not most.

I never said that I was against it. But when you find out on a message board that there's a final public meeting that you could possibly lose family land that has been passed down from generation to generation. Yeah, there's cause for concern. So I do want to know the details. By your post, it sounds like you just roll over and take it. Good for you.

I pay ~100-120 a month in DFW.

The miles covered: 12.5 x 2 = 25mi driven per day (round trip)
Days: ~23

(575 miles total @23 Days)/ 120 dollars = ~ 4.79 dollars per round trip.

Ok, how many generations? What are you doing with the land?

It's not Windsor Castle in England for Christ's sake.
