quote:Yes, was pretty good the last time I went. Majority of the customers were Mexican or Mexican-American and I think the owners are from Guadalajara. It's probably TOO authentic for for a lot of the white boomers around here.
Anyone been to that taqueria off of Johnston?

You are not paying for the food, you are paying for clientele control.

Panchos, it was in the building where Deanos on Kaliste Saloom is now.
No, that was Casa Ole, it sucked.
Pancho's was the building that Osaka occupies now (B/t Twins and Lafayette Lanes).

La Hacienda is by far the worst of the group. Zero flavor on anything.
Only been to the one in front of Wal Mart, but you are correct. However, the one in Opelousas is very good, was not even close to the one in Lafayette in front of Wal Mart. I was told that they have different owners that is why the food varies so much b/t all of these locations.

Damn Laffy getting a chimes now a superior? They already have a Tsunami. They’re trying to be the new BR. They should hire Coach O to replace Napier.

It’s a made fresh thing like Izzo’s, but the new gas station at the intersection of Ridge and Rue de Belier has a great food place in the back of it. Only times I’ve gone it’s been me and the Mexican construction workers in line

And I gladly pay it. A table of undesirables next to you will ruin a meal real quick.

quote:Yes. Have had lunch there many times but it has fallen off a little since Covid and/or the expansion. Loved the older version.
LaPagua is the best.

You aren’t their target customer.

The two founders/owners split the business a few years ago. If the entity buying Randol’s is out of Baton Rouge, that means it’s Bobby’s side of the company. He has both Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Sits behind home plate at LSU baseball games. Good guy.
Lives in our neighborhood— I envy the heck out of his home and his holiday decorations. He or his wife has very nice, classic taste.

Tsunami lafayette is the original location. Maybe BR is trying to be like Lafayette

Pretty sure we got Tsnuami second.

Funny enough, Rouj Creole (who has a very weird crowd sometimes) apparently posted this AM about $20 bottomless mimosas. My friend forwarded the post to me and said “oh great, the crowd at Rouj is going to get awful”… but the post was “post unavailable”. They deleted their own post because I guess they had second thoughts on doing that deal also
Notice - Very few places still do bottomless anymore.

Tits up.
Bon Temps Grill is in the space now. We went the day after Thanksgiving and it was abysmal.
Too bad. We liked it when it was on Kaliste. They will be out of business within a year, unless something drastic happens.
