Holy shat that’s close to bottom of TexMex chains. But if you insist on free sopaipilla & soft serve ice cream…that’s your place.

I think you're talking about a different place, the one in Lafayette didn't have that.

ETA: the place with the little flags or whatever is what I'm thinking you're talking about. I can't remember the name of it because it's been probably 25 years since I've been there

Panchos, it was in the building where Deanos on Kaliste Saloom is now. Posados was in the huge building that was built to look like a rundown building in Mexico. It's a Brick & Spoon and a reception venue now.

Right, I know what you're talking about. It's a Brick & Spoon now. I think the other poster was mixing up Posado's and Pancho's. I don't recall ever getting free ice cream from Posado's.

Posados had a soft serve machine by the door so you could grab a cone on your way out the door, pretty sure they did free sopaipillas as well.

Guess I'm getting old because I don't recall that at all

I remember it because when my family would mention going to eat Mexican my little brother would whine to try to to to Posados because he thought the building was cool and wanted the sopaipillas and ice cream. We'd always end up at Tampicos.

Still pretty crazy the amount of mexican places that are there/have been in that area.

Currently from Walmart to Costco:
La Hacienda
Pedros
La Pagua
Tampicos
Aztecas
Another La Hacienda
El Paso
Chuys
Agave
Superior

Count Chipotle and Izzos if you want to get technical

Closed:
Coyote Blues
Acme Taco(RIP in Peace)
Posados
Ninfas
Panchos

Can confirm the soft serve. I can’t remember if the sopapillas were free or not.

It was the first Superior Grill location. Lots less busy and well known then and a more enjoyable experience!

You apparently never went to happy hour. Especially on a Sunday.

Forget Tex Mex. Go to La Papa Loca on Johnston St. they got the best food.

^^This. And go down the Scott Highway (Cameron). There are some great Mexican places there.

Is that the one off the side street of Johnston? Kinda across from Don’s. That is the one I was asking about.

Wonder why El Tiempo hasn’t tried expanding their empire across the Sabine. People in LA would flock to that place if they could open locations with same quality as the Houston ones.

La Hacienda is by far the worst of the group. Zero flavor on anything.

Jesus christ, that stereotype hasn't been accurate since 2010. Come up with some new jokes and keep coping to the fact that you probably live in some ghetto craphole.
