If blacks start camping outdoors, we’ll never get the smell out.

Why does everything have a “complicated” past?
White people like being in NP, black people don’t. Who really gives a shite?

The disparity in access to the outdoors is particularly frustrating to Harris, who pointed out that those who could most benefit from being in a rural environment have often felt excluded. “Being in nature is healing,” she said. “People who need that healing most are Black and Indigenous people, and the idea that it’s inaccessible … it’s just not right.”

Does this bitch know that you can literally just go outside? There's no one stopping you. They aren't doing race checks at the entrance to the woods.

I'll take as many as you want. Only if I can leave them in the woods, deep deep deep in the woods. Their primitive instincts should kick in quickly!

She lives in a fantasy world that oppresses brown people by not letting them go outside.

Yeah, black people aren't going to national parks because of past racist policies

They may not like the parks much, but they camp under the overpasses a lot in New Orleans.

that's a bad participation number by latino's . across the southwest extended family camping trips by latinos is such a big deal for mothers day, easter, and other holidays, you can't find a parking spot much less than a camp spot.

there is a systemic problem with camp sites in state/federal parks and national forests. most of them were built in the 1950's and before when the size of a camping trailer was under 30 feet. today's 35-50 footer Rv's cannot be parked in 90 % of the fed/state /national parks west of the Mississippi

So well to do minorities with big Rv's are systemically limited from that opportunity. So is the white guy

Probably would have gotten the math right if they had included Asians.

And what about the Natives?

The author of this article has obviously never been to the Bay area. Camping is very popular among people of color in San Francisco and Oakland.
