frick THC. That shite is toxic to anyone battling a mental condition. Absolute poison. Glad this is happening.
Yet alcohol is available in this state damn near 24-7, and doctors will hand out prescription’s on behalf of the pharmaceutical companies like people giving out candy on Halloween. Who are you to tell people what they can eat, drink, or smoke? How hard would it be to have an election like we did with sports gambling? Every parish got to vote, if North Louisiana has a problem with then they can vote against it.

We voted these people into office.
We can hold them accountable down the road.

The Miller bill went to the bureau today. I wonder if they'll push that one through and dump Pressley's.
What’s the bill number? Can’t remember if I’ve read that one yet.

And who do you think is paying the authors of these bills? They are all in the pockets of the likes of John Bollinger, who owns one of the pseudo-private contracts to sell it at jacked up prices across the state

HB 952. It calls for only one serving of THC, set at 8 mg, per container amongst other provisions.
Posted on 5/28/24 at 6:59 pm to facher08
The proposed limit of 8 mg per serving is reasonable, in my opinion. However I believe it also bans any drinks, right? If there was ever doubt the alcohol lobby is behind this attempted ban, that eliminates it.

When the state got in the so-called medical THC game this was always going to be the outcome. Go to the doctors that the State of Louisiana deems acceptable to give you permission to buy overpriced and over regulated products. It’s always been about money, but instead of giving us the opportunity to vote on legalization the politicians do the opposite because they have to appease the masters that helped put them there.

This bill doesn't ban anything. It limits the amount of servings per unit of delivery system.
So, for example, no more 100mg cans of seltzer that say 8 servings. 1 can = 1 serving, i.e. 8mg per can no matter the volume of the vessel.
ETA: After reading through it again, it does ban selling THC mixed with anything alcoholic.

Can anyone give an update on the bill?
ETA: more of a where it’s at and what’s next?

Reasonable? Says who? You?
I sell Delta-9 daiquiri’s. I started selling them on 4/20.
I offer 4 different sizes/dose combinations.
16 mg
32 mg
48 mg
96 mg
Guess which one is my best-seller and difficult to keep in stock?
The fricking 96 mg daiquiri. Turns out, citizens enjoy freedom and the right to choose what the frick they want.
It’s all bullshite. All of it. frick this fricking state and it’s quest to kill small business due to hypocritical bought for pieces of shite politcians.

I appreciate you. While I’m in favor of across the board drug legalization, I think that’s a reasonable compromise considered the current political winds in this state.
Just brainstorming for a sec, I have to think that will start to move the industry from finished beverages to “flavor packs”: small, cheap containers of 8mg THC that are intended to be added to other beverages, at the patron’s leisure.

You sell a daiquiri with 96 mcg of delta-9 THC?

To save others the effort, here's the relevant text of the bill:
For the uninitiated, plain text is current law, underlined is new law, strikethrough is current law to be removed.

Good. One minute you try a “harmless” edible or gummy. Next thing you know you’re sucking dick for a teenth of meth

Yes
People are free to take more than one 8 mg serving at a time.

Can daiquiri shops even do this under current law?
Not saying they shouldn’t be allowed to do this, but the sale of beverages seems like it would be regulated.

The same way they can buy only 1 extra shot of liquor from me, right?
Wrong, that doesn’t exist. A customer can purchase as much alcohol as they want. And alcohol is ABSOLUTELY DESTRUCTIVE and dangerous.
Again, it’s all bullshite. If anything should be regulates it’s alcohol, not delta-9, but alcohol should not be regulated either.
Citizens should be able to purchase what they want on the open market. Period.
I sell daq’s at a half gallon option. That comes standard with 8 shots of liquor. Let’s say someone order a 190 Diesel based drink and orders 4 extra shots in it (which happens all the time), that customer now has a beverage with 12 shots of 190 proof alcohol in one cup. Absolutely insane and absolutely terrible. That person could end up in the ER with alcohol poisoning depending on who it is, and at the very least is ruined for the next 48 hours.
That same person orders a 96mg delta daq. They will wake up the next morning, drink a cup of coffee, and go to work like nothing happened.
Again, it’s fricking bullshite and it’s a-hole politicians that are lobbied into banning stuff like this and use “muh muh muh think of the children” horseshite to scare the frick out of simple-minded ignorant people on this.
