He thumps on his Bible to appeal to his constituents, meanwhile, his family is under investigation by the DEA for dumping opioids into the market. There is nothing noble about this dude, as is ALWAYS the case in this corrupt shithole of a state, follow the money.

I go back and forth between this and thinking they might have enough sense to not kill a growing industry.

We’ll find out today one way or another.

This dude graduated high school 2005, making him roughly 37 years old. Its shocking for someone in this generator to vote this way.

Not shocking at all if you follow the money as many in this thread have pointed out.

And all of these politicians are pushing for looser regulations on campaign donor sources. I wonder why...

237 back to the calendar again. Only one day left to vote on a ban.

Don’t they, at least in theory, have Monday as well?

They do, but I think they are trying to push everything they want out today.

BTW, now I'm hearing 5mg per serving and limited servings per package may be the compromise for 237. We'll see.

I’m by no means up on parliamentary rules, but wouldn’t that be a quick turn around for the Senate to approve any amendment?

As for the compromise, I think that would depend on how many servings per container are allowed. It’s facially “worse” than the House bill, but if you get more than one serving per container, it swings back to being better. Will be interesting to see.

It would be somewhat similar to here in Colorado, except our limit on recreational is 10 mg dose. We do get up to 100 mg worth in a container.

5 mg is low, and it would be stupid if thats all you can get per container but on its face, seems like a decent compromise in Louisiana.

They would be amending Miller's down to 5 from 8. Then, the senate would send it back to the house since they have to convene to concur the budget anyway.

Got ya. I misinterpreted as that they would be amending 237.

Eta: To go back to my previous post, are you hearing chatter about whether the serving per container would stay at 1, or would they bump that to somewhat compensate for the lower dose per serving?

They just got the amendments this morning and some just a short time before the session. They’re trying to last minute push through all kinds of amendment shite.

She keeps talking about the kids - How about PUNISH STORES CAUGHT SELLING TO KIDS, just like alcohol? ENFORCE the laws that are ALREADY THERE?

I thought marijuana made you chill out and not get angry? Or are you going through withdrawal?

It does, but I’m dry because they banned everything because of people like you that hate kids.

"The Children" shouldn't be able to buy these. I honestly didn't know they existed until all the hoopla this session. Do you have to be a particular age to currently buy them? Is Schlegel the kiddie porn lady the Metairie folks voted in? If so, she's nuts.

I had to stop watching the House debate after the 20th time they talked about protecting the children. I'm literally sick to my stomach over the current state of politics in LA. I'm convinced no politician actually wants less government.

They put narcotics in candy to get children addicted early

If gummies were only allowed to be menthol flavored maybe it would be ok

Rep Stagni calling her out for lying that the industry is unregulated and also pointing out its already illegal for kids to buy.
