Is this old news? SIAP

quote:

(WAFB) - A bill signed into law by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says the state will adopt daylight saving time as the year-round standard time, pending changes in federal law.

“I had some seniors ask me just a couple of weeks ago when I was visiting a nursing home if we could keep the Daylight Saving Time all year because their loved ones come to visit and they want to get home before dark, and it really cuts it short, and I just think people are in a happier mood, maybe less crime, I’m not sure,” state representative Dodie Horton, the sponsor of the bill, told WAFB in March.

The law only goes into effect if the United States Congress amends current federal law to allow states to decide whether or not they adopt daylight saving time as their year-round standard time.

What was Governor Bel Boucher doing in a nursing home? Doesn’t he want to “stop the spread”? That’s what he preaches to us about all the time. I guess it’s ok for him to go see granny but not the commoners.

Dang it. I like going to bed at 7pm in the winter.

This is what they’re wasting our tax dollars and their time on?

Yeah, that part got my attention as well, was curious myself. And not having to change the clocks here in AZ is awesome, I highly recommend.

So our time would be an hour ahead of everyone else's in Central Time Zone for the winter months.

Could see some 9pm kickoff times late in the year in Tiger Stadium or 9pm tips in the PMAC during basketball season.

FL did the same thing like two years ago and we still flip the clocks twice a year. Not sure how federal approval works.

Until it’s nationally adopted I disagree. Too much confusion.

So dumb that you can choose to stay in standard time year round but have to have approval to stay in day light savings year round.

DST is terrible. At least let it be dark during winter since we don’t ever get cold temps
