GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT/Gray News) - An employee at a Kentucky middle school was arrested Friday after she was accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office said 25-year-old Sadie Flores is charged with grooming a minor.

The allegation was first made to Graves County Schools, which then “immediately” reported it to the sheriff’s office, according to district Superintendent Matt Madding.

Flores, an employee at Graves County Middle School, was arrested following an interview with deputies.

The investigation also included the seizure of electronic records.

“Because this is an ongoing legal and personnel matter, we are limited in the information we can publicly share. However, we want to assure our families that the safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority. We take any allegation involving the safety of a child or the professional conduct of an employee extremely seriously and will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement and the appropriate authorities,” Madding said in a statement.

Flores was initially taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center and later transferred to an out-of-county detention facility.
