Who the frick quotes gross profit margin?

Political hacks who try to intentionally lie to the public so they can implement policies that do nothing more than line the pockets of industries they pretend to be fighting while telling everyone they’re socialist policies.

Kroger Co. hiked prices on milk and eggs more than needed to account for inflation,

How about to account for supply & demand? I know your are pretty much scraping the bottom of barrel as far as being an uneducated, low-IQ turd of a human but the cost of eggs and dairy products increased well above inflation due to numerous factors. Nice but dishonest try.

What if they are all using the same dynamic pricing calculator like the rental sector has been discovered to be using the past few years?

Source direct locally. Plenty of local acreage owners with hens running around and buy that Amish milk.

Do you think inflation is the only factor when it comes to prices?

If inflation/ increased costs that must be passed on to consumers were really the main reason the prices are so high their profits would not be skyrocketing.

"Profits" are only skyrocketing because we're in an inflationary environment. Is your brain incapable of converting to %s? That'd show you anything but skyrocketing profits for pretty much every one of these big, evil food companies. They aren't going to just allow themselves to go out of business by keeping prices stagnant and making zero money as the cost of labor & product goes up.

Of course not. But so many others who post on TD do.

Doesn't La government control milk prices? I guess it's ok since it's the government.

And Kroger here isn't that high. It's way cheaper than Publix down the road.

The article didn't say how much more, any mitigating factors, or link to any actual testimony.

Not sure this worthless article warrants 7 pages.

I hate this shift in the Overton window where it’s ok to debate how much a business should be entitled to make. They’re not a utility or a bank.

They're not evil. Their concern is to maximize profits by any means they can. Period.

That translates into prices not going down significantly as pandemic years costs have gone because they are maximizing profits.

It's not evil but it is the primary reason the grocery bills everyone complains about are still so high.

It's simply disingenuous to blame all the lesser factors when the major corporate food companies are making even more bank.

I run a small business and know that the costs of many things went up during the pandemic. I also know that anytime my gross profits are growing by 5% a year that I'm not feeling a pinch.

What kind of small business do you run if you cant even discern profit $ from margin %?

Oh, you mean when the government controls all the grocery stores and sets the prices? Yeah, that might be a problem. Especially when no one is allowed to compete with them. Is that what you are referring to?

I spent a lot of time in Houston in 2020 and shopped almost exclusively at a Kroger near my place. Their prices were great compared to here in Lafayette.

Milk was $1.99 a gallon and I’d buy a whole roasted chicken in the afternoon for like $3.99.

So go shop at Publix, or Food Lion or any of the hundred grocery stores within 3 miles of where you live.

I thought the direct reference to the use of %s might help him out, but he still couldn't get there.
